Anil Kapoor's Mother Passes Away: Janhvi Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Khushi, & Others Gather to Pay Last Respects

Anil Kapoor’s mother, Nirmal Kapoor, passed away at the age of 90, leaving a deep void in the hearts of the Kapoor family. She took her last breath in Mumbai and was surrounded by loved ones. Known as the soul of the Kapoor household, she played a key role in keeping the family united over the decades.

Nirmal Kapoor was married to veteran film producer Surinder Kapoor. Together, they raised four children – Anil Kapoor, Reena Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor – who went on to become well-known figures in the film industry. Her grandchildren include Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, and Jahaan Kapoor. Reena Kapoor’s son, Mohit Marwah, is also part of the extended film family.

On Friday, Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya were seen arriving at the family home to pay their last respects. Shanaya Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Jahaan Kapoor too was spotted outside the house, visibly emotional. Boney Kapoor was among the first to reach his mother’s residence after the news of her demise broke. The atmosphere outside was one of deep sorrow as the family prepared for the final rites.

Nirmal Kapoor’s presence was always felt in every family gathering. Whether it was festivals, weddings, or birthdays, she would be seen smiling and blessing her children and grandchildren. Her warm energy was cherished by all who met her.

In September 2024, Nirmal Kapoor had celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by her loved ones. Anil Kapoor had posted touching photos with her on Instagram and wrote, “90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day. Blessed to be your child. Happy birthday, Mummy!”

Her passing has brought an end to a chapter filled with love, strength, and family values. The Kapoor family, known for standing together during tough times, is now mourning a personal loss that words can’t fully express.
