Amit Kumar Breaks Silence on Aamir Khan Being Considered for Kishore Kumar Biopic

Actor Aamir Khan has reportedly been offered the lead role in a biopic about the legendary actor-singer Kishore Kumar, which will be directed by filmmaker Anurag Basu. Sources say that Khan and Basu “have been discussing the project with producer Bhushan Kumar.”

Kishore Kumar's son, singer Amit Kumar, commented on whether he is aware of Aamir's involvement, stating, “Nothing is finalised. As per our legal team’s order we can’t mention any developments.”

Earlier, according to the media reports “The Kishore Kumar biopic is a subject close to the heart of Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar. Aamir is also a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and loved the vision that Basu has.”

The source further revealed, “The filmmaker has treated it very differently, and that’s what has fascinated Aamir the most.” 

Additionally, it was noted that Aamir is considering six films, with the scripts for the Kishore Kumar biopic, a biopic on special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, and a comedy by filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi already locked. In contrast, sequels for Ghajini, and projects from filmmakers Lokesh Kanagaraj and Zoya Akhtar are still in development. Of the six films, he is set to commit to three and may choose to let the other three go. Attempts to reach Kumar and Basu for comments went unanswered.
