Ali Abbas Zafar confirms 'Super Soldier' featuring Katrina Kaif still in works; promises action extravaganza

The collaboration between Ali Abbas Zafar and Katrina Kaif traces its roots back to 2011, when Ali made his directorial debut with the film "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan." Their partnership has consistently resulted in successful movies such as "Tiger Zinda Hai" and "Bharat," establishing a strong bond between the two. Naturally, when news broke about their upcoming collaboration in an action-packed film titled "Super Soldier," fans couldn't contain their excitement. Unfortunately, the project faced delays, prompting Ali Abbas Zafar to address the situation in a recent interview. 

Numerous reports indicated that "Super Soldier," directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starring Katrina Kaif in the lead role, was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Both the director and actress became occupied with their respective commitments, further extending the film's delay. Initially, it was anticipated that Katrina would showcase her exceptional action skills as seen in films like "Tiger Zinda Hai" and "Phantom." 

Ali has now clarified that although the film has been pushed back, it has not been shelved. He assured fans that the project will come to fruition, but he is waiting for the right time to proceed. Currently, Ali is engaged with other film ventures, and once the stars align and both he and Katrina have the necessary availability, production will commence.

Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif has an exciting lineup of films awaiting release. One of the most anticipated projects is "Tiger 3," in which she will share the screen with Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles. Apart from "Tiger 3," Katrina will be starring in "Merry Christmas," directed by Sriram Raghavan and featuring Vijay Sethupathi. She will also be a part of the highly anticipated road trip film directed by Farhan Akhtar titled "Jee Le Zaraa". It will also feature Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra in titular roles.
