Akshay Kumar to make Tollywood debut alongside Prabhas and Mohanlal in 'Kannappa'

Mukesh Kumar Singh's project, "Kannappa," starring Vishnu Manchu, is making waves as its cast continues to grow. The latest addition to this star-studded lineup is none other than Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who is set to make his Tollywood debut with this fantasy drama based on mythology, revolving around the devout follower of Lord Shiva, Kannappa.

Industry insider Ramesh Bala took to social media to announce Akshay Kumar's inclusion in the film.

 He wrote, 

"Bollywood Superstar @akshaykumar joins the cast of Prestigious Pan-India Biggie - Actor @iVishnuManchu's Big Budget movie #Kannappa. After #Prabhas, @Mohanlal, @PDdancing and @realsarathkumar - @akshaykumar is one more grand addition to the movie's cast."

This marks a significant milestone for Akshay, who previously ventured into South Indian cinema with bilingual projects like "Vishnu Vijaya" and the Tamil blockbuster "2.0."

"Kannappa" boasts a star-studded cast from various industries, including Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Shiva Rajkumar, among others. With music by Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma, cinematography by Sheldon Chau, and editing by Anthony, the film promises a visual spectacle like no other.

Vishnu Manchu's passion project, "Kannappa," is being produced by Mohan Babu under AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.

The screenplay, crafted by Vishnu himself, is based on a compelling story developed by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G Nageswara Reddy, and Thota Prasad. Shot in Telugu, the film will be dubbed into other South Indian languages and Hindi to reach a wider audience.

Despite initial casting changes, including the departure of Kajal Aggarwal and Nupur Sanon, the film remains on track with Preity Mukhundhan stepping in as the female lead.
