The highly anticipated weekend release, "Shaitaan," featuring stellar cast- Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika, has stirred up conversations as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) grants it a U/A rating with certain modifications. The film, a remake of the Gujarati movie "Vash," has been making waves with its intriguing trailer, hinting at a narrative woven around black magic. However, in the lead-up to its launch, the CBFC has mandated several alterations to ensure responsible storytelling.

In a move aimed at maintaining a balance between creative expression and social responsibility, the CBFC directed the inclusion of a voiceover featuring a disclaimer against endorsing black magic. Director Vikas Bahl was also tasked with replacing an abusive word with a scream, showcasing the board's commitment to refining content for a wider audience. Additionally, one scene faced the editor's cut, aligning with the CBFC's standards.

Reports indicate that the CBFC has further requested a 25% reduction in the visuals of blood dripping from the mouth, underscoring the board's focus on moderating intense imagery. To promote responsible portrayal, the film is now obligated to incorporate a message on sensible liquor consumption. These changes, while maintaining the integrity of the film, have brought the total runtime of "Shaitaan" to 132 minutes.

Despite these adjustments, the film promises an engaging narrative that delves into the timeless battle of good versus evil. The teaser and posters released so far have piqued the audience's interest, offering glimpses of a thrilling and suspenseful storyline. Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, with backing from Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, "Shaitaan" is helmed by the talented director Vikas Bahl.

Scheduled for release on March 8, 2024, "Shaitaan" is poised to offer audiences an immersive journey into the enduring conflict between opposing forces.
