One fan, referencing his "Aashiqui 2" character Rahul Jaykar, a singer and musician, wrote, "Welcome back RJ." Another fan exclaimed, "You are amazing man," while a third observed, "Aditya giving all Rahul Jaykar vibes," highlighting the strong impression of his performance.
Before Aditya Roy Kapur's performance, host Sumukhi Suresh playfully introduced him, stating, "He is a newcomer. He needs a lot of support. He has never seen stage before. So you have to clap a little." Upon taking the stage, Aditya echoed this sentiment, greeting the audience with, "Hello friends, I am a newcomer, I need your support," creating a lighthearted moment.
Aditya previously mentioned that, although he has sung for friends in private, this marks his official singing debut in a film. The opportunity to sing arose organically due to the film's musical nature, and the result has been well-received, giving fans a novel experience of seeing him sing on screen.
“The one thing that the fans might discover that they’ve never seen before is that I’m singing for the first time, I’ve always sung but more for myself and my friends. I’ve never sang officially in a film so this is going to be the first time that I’m singing in the movie and it happened quite organically actually. Because the format of the film is musical, Dada wanted me to come in and give it a shot and it seemed like it’s stuck and it worked out so that’s definitely a new thing for the fans to see me sing on the screen and that’s going to be fun," he said.
Anurag Basu's 'Metro...In Dino' boasts an ensemble cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sensharma, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Saswata Chatterjee. The film is slated for a theatrical release on July 4, 2025.
