While the Hindi version of Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan tanked at the box office, the movie is still remembered for its locations, stunning cinematography and music. It had the pair of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. The two have done memorable movies with Mani Ratnam. One of them is the blockbuster Guru and then Raavan. Mani Ratnam’s Raavan completed 14 years in 2024. Amitabh Bachchan wrote on X, “Abhishek an unforgettable performance….so different from all the others in other films of yours .. and that is the true value of an artist !! love.” Social media noticed that he did not mention his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. 

Mani Ratnam is known to make visually appealing films and actors do shoot in secluded areas. Raavan had shots of the gorgeous Athirapally Falls of Kerala, which is the filmmaker’s fave. He also shot in the jungles of Kerala. The shoot was physically demanding on all the actors. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had done some truly dangerous scenes. Talking to journalist Subhash K Jha, Abhishek Bachchan said, “I am a normal man and a normal husband. I was definitely concerned for my wife's well being and she was equally concerned about me. Oh, she's very, very strong. But Mani wouldn't allow her to do anything that was unsafe. Speaking for myself, it was great fun. Ask any of Mani's actors. They'll tell you they're willing to do anything he asks them to."

Abhishek Bachchan said Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and he are dying to do a movie together. It seems they want the perfect script. The Bachchan bahu was superb in Ponniyin Selvan where she played the role of Nandini. Fans want Chiyaan Vikram and her in a mature romantic film. Mani Ratnam and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are an unbeatable combo at the box office.
