For Shravan Mehta who essays the role of RGV in Channel V's Best Friends Forever (produced by Cinevistaas), birthdays are very special. And he had a gala time as he recently celebrated his 22nd birthday in style.
Talking about it, Shravan says, "I actually got to party hard last year for my birthday. But this time around, I was busy with my night shoot for Best Friends Forever. However, the unit was so sweet that they surprised me by organizing a cake-cutting on the sets. And at sharp 12 in the night, I did cut the cake (smiles). I enter an exciting phase of life, as I turn older."
Shravan's character in Best Friends Forever is actually inspired by RGV (Ram Gopal Verma) and has the same character name too. Talking about it, the actor states, "It is a great feeling to be part of this huge show. My character of RGV provides the comic relief; he is a fun loving guy who aspires to become a film maker. But due to pressure from parents, he has joined the law college. And as the story progresses, the secret to the whole mystery will get unraveled from his camera shoot."
Not all know that Shravan is a great dancer who has had a 4 year experience of being part of the Shiamak Davar Institute wherein he has been part of movies like Yuvraj and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as a background dancer. "After being a Shiamak-ite, I tried my hands as participant in Star Plus' Zara Nachke Dikha. I in fact got into the competition of entering the show as a wild card solo performer, but failed to do so. After that, movies like Bodyguard and Student of the Year happened. I did not aim to get into television, but this role and show did excite me to get into television."
Ask him about his rapport with his co-stars in Best Friends Forever, and he states, "We are like one big family. But I gel well and feel comfortable with Lavin who essays the role of Mac, as we both are fun loving guys."
On his future plans, Shravan avers, "I am not from a Bollywood family, and I believe in hard work to derive success. I have been in this industry for three years now, and obviously would want to get lead roles in movies. Having said this, I am open to challenging roles on television too."
All the best, Shravan for a great future!!!
