Episode 363 Discussion: 29th August 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is
  1. It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
  2. We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
  3. It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
  4. And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for Newcomers to this thread.
Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT
  1. Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
  2. Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
  3. Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
  4. The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum.
  5. When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

For those who cannot watch can have the Live/Written Updates.
Today's LU from : Armu4eva

Note:
  • There are various other threads all over the forum. Please check out those as well. This is just one choice out of so many.
  • Readers are encouraged to post links of other members posts which had been "delightful read" towards analysis of episodic event/s or character analysis. It becomes an easy navigation in the myriad of posts and pages and can easily be overlooked.
  • The link to present day ED thread is always provided in the previous one discussed. Those who participated in previous thread can go to my posts and check the previous thread to get access to new link.

TRP News: Week 34, August 18th - 24th 2013
http://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/wassup/16479-tvt-and-gvt-ratings-week-34.htm

TRP Analysis:

Originally posted by: river123

MB TRPs increased about 8% to approx. 2.3 vs. 2.1 the week prior (TVTs went to 4,646 from 4,304 the week prior.) The show is now at #11, a nice improvement from last week's #15! 😃 Especially given that most other top shows showed a decline in TRPs/TVTs over the prior week.

While it is too early to declare victory and pop the bubbly, hopefully over the next few weeks, there will be continued increases in viewership due to this week's much awaited drama, and a new track which will hopefully have tight writing and execution and focus on the main leads. The climb back will be slow (with ups and downs) but if the makers stick to the knitting, things should look up over time, despite fresh new competition.

Weekly TRP trends are below (note: data converted from TVTs to TRPs so that we could have consistent comparison points. This is a rough inexact conversion.) I removed the linear trendline this week - it was depressing to see that straight line downward slope all the time!

Note: Data converted from TVTs to TRPs from week 31 onwards. Does not take into consideration impact of adding new markets at various points. Size of these markets, viewing patterns, demographics, level of digitization etc. of those markets would impact TRPs. Also, hard to judge IPL's exact impact.

The two charts below show: 1) Top 10 shows TRPs and 2) TRP increase/drop for those shows, compared to the week prior. The blue bars on the second chart are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same.

Most of the other top 15 had TRP decreases, MB did better - it had the highest increase compared to the week prior.

PS: all my usual caveats apply - this is a rough analysis etc. etc. Feel free to point out the holes (I freely admit there's probably some!)

Funny how a little thing makes such a big difference to one's viewing experience. The changing colours of Madhu's nailpolish spoilt the episode for me.

Or maybe there really was something wrong with the screenplay/direction that the intensity didn't come through. Hope tomorrow is better!

I seriously loved today's episode... 😃.. mein bahut kush hu 😃 ... Sultan movie ka THE END hone wala hai...😃😃

What an episode... Awesome 👏

Firstly, Madhu is looking very beautiful... and Very cute Rishbala scene... RK declared that world loves madhu ki jungli billi avatar not beegi nilli avatar 😆... yep RK... ur right... and i wanna declare that we love ur kameena avatar...😉😆... Loved that scene... dialogues were perfect and hug is asusually great... The way RK pulled madhu in milli seconds made me go ☺️...

No comments on sultan scene... i never pay attention to his scenes... all i understood is he is getting ready for another joker avatar 🥱 but this time marne ke liye 😉😆, hume torture karne ke liye nahi...

Next i liked Rishbala and joshi scene...👏... Joshi is ready with all arrangements... like the screenplay of his narration of arrangements...👍🏼... Madhu is tensed... understandable... RK assured..😳.. Joshi apologized to madhu...😛

Next paddy-radha-sikky-dips scene, understandable conversation between paddy and radha... usual parent tension.. 😊... sikky was funny... 😆

Then Rishbala enetered... Loved their entry with RK's background music... i love that BG... Then asusual joshi explanation of arrangements... there are hardly 3-4 girls dressed up like madhu... is it really difficult for sullu to find out madhu ... Joshi yeh tune kya kiya 😆... ok sab maaf... kyun ki ur the one who is going to kill SULLU bhai...😃

Then RK's welcome gesture and their entry on stage with that beautiful Rishbala BG...i loved it... 👏... looked very real to me 👏.. but i expected more crowd... its kind of disappointment to me ... Madhu realized sullu bhai presence... kyun nahi... itne saare appearences toh diye bhai ne woh bhi alag alag getups mein 😆😆...Paddo's chant is back 😃...madhu's tension and RK's tadap looked very real... that i hate u was cute yet touching... and Kaisa ishq BG is back 😳...That music while they are going apart was 😳

Precap was good too 👍🏼 waiting for tomorrow's episode 😎

It was a very good episode... The writing, the editing, performances, everything was spot-on
RK trying to crack light-hearted jokes but failed badly.. VD was good there.. you could feel that he is trying to ease himself and her of the nervousness and then the final reassurances before they move out of the room..

Joshi explaining the arrangements made at the chawl to nab Sultan.. The scene was constructed really well.. The editing was perfect.. It was nice to see the action happening..

Radha-Padmini: I still don't get why Radha has to be kept in the dark but liked the way Pads reassured Radha about their kids, the occasion,etc.. Pads chants her hauslon ke veer..
Dipali was quite clear when she spoke about Madhu being dressed as other dancers being trap 1 for Sultan and am surprised Pads sisn't actually listen to it...

The last part was really touching with the hum hai deewane playing.. the mitne-mitane ki promises RK-Madhu make to themselves... DD/VD were bang on with their emotions!!!

Joshi requires a special mention in the episode for his acting, his conduct through his scenes,.. The writing of all his scenes were neat and he did a neat job of it👍🏼

Keeping my fingers crossed that the coming episodes too have good writing and execution and fervently hoping for clunk-free episodes...

Just a small complaint, the chawl court-yard could have been packed with more people..

Loved today's episode. Scored high on the romantic quotient for me. RM were perfect together, reminded me yet again about why I love this show. Things moved at a great pace. RK and Madhu looked stunning (and no, I wasn't reminded of a driver.)

RK Mansion:
  • RK and Madhu are both very aware of the danger involved. Both of them subtly taking every opportunity to draw strength from and cling to each other (whether it was the hug in the bedroom, or the joining of hands downstairs and at the chawl)
  • RK's dialogues in the bedroom were great. Loved the "RK" i.e. Radha and Krishna reference.
  • RK pulling Madhu close when she thinks he is trivializing the Sultan encounter. It was a sizzling moment, and him basically conveying that he very aware of what is at stake.
  • Both Madhu and RK were perfect today, conveying their fears, feelings.

The gangster's hideout:
  • Preparations in full swing. LV is being made up, artfully shadowed behind the curtain. Thank you CVs for sparing us unnecessary views. BTW, apparently one of the requirements for being the Don's minion's is the art of make-up.
  • LV's sidekicks inform him that there is a lot of police bandobast at the chawl. LV gives some of his usual "finish RK" "make Madhu mine" blah blah blah nonsense.

Back at RK mansion:
  • With the rest of the family safely out of the way, Joshi and colleagues show up in mufti. Cute and adorable how he responds to RK's pointing out about Sultan being no spring chicken, and he needs to be treated as such. Joshi's "jaal kaccha nahin bichaya gaya hai" with that cute look was spot on.
  • Sweet how Madhu instinctively clings on to RK when Joshi says they need to be separate at the event at the chawl.

At the chawl:
  • Nice dahi handi scene at the chawl. They had some lovely shots, only slightly marred by the long shots, which highlighted the fact that there weren't too many people milling around. Would have been great to have had hundreds of people crowding the area for those shots for dramatic effect.
  • Padmini, looking pretty in her yellow saree, gives Radhaji the Kamsa destroying reference. And tries to allay her worries about their crazy couple separating. Her words to Radhaji made me feel like she's finally figured them out. Liked how Padmini referred to RM as "your children."
  • Love RM's handgrip as they entered and walked to the stage
  • Dips refers to Sultan and chakravyuha. Padmini is startled. One of those "did I hear correctly?"
  • Poor innocent Radhaji's fears re: RM have been temporarily alleviated, and she thinks all these preparations are related to the film's publicity.
  • Lovely scene with the two of them on the stage.
  • Moment of the day: Madhu finally says to RK that she is only his, and she will finish herself (if she is captured)
  • They try to bolster each other up, silently vowing togetherness and protecting each other forever (or die in the attempt.)
  • Loved the BG song. Perfect placement.

The Precap: Dips in action. The woman just does not give up.

All in all a nice epi...

RK Madhu scene RK trying to ease the tension n trying to look calm but failed n that sudden pull the intensity their between them was very strong loved that scene even the hug DVD did a splendid job!!!

(but DD's lehanga in that scene was a little short... i think she was wearing a different lehanga in chawl scene)

RK- Madhu Joshi scene A huge round of applause for Man of the hour Mr Joshi for doing so much work n people say ki police koi kaam nahin karti all those ppl look at our Mr Joshi😆
He is like the personal employee of RK giving tough competition to Bittuji...his apology to Madhu was nice but sir aapne thodi der kardi par chalo koi nahin like RK said since aap Bhai ka sanghaar karne waale ho to sab galtiyan maaf...i like his smile..M a Joshi fan now😉😛

sikky was too funny n yes he was looking better than Bhai😆

PH sachi mein kangaal ho gaya hai..is se jyada crowd to holi epi me tha..only 3 chairs..i wish for trp rise

the whole RK Madhu scene in the end was well enacted...RK realizing Madhu's fear n uneasiness without even looking at her just by her touch... n then finally Madhu says "Madhu kisi or ki nahin ho sakti mein apne aap ko khatam kar loongi" so for all those ppl who had doubts!!!
last i hate u was cute... Madhu also should hv said "me too" the whole Hum hain deewane part n them promising each other was touching!!!

Build up episode...I liked it. Am i imagining it or are the episodes becoming better day by day, despite glaring bloopers? Someone please clarify...😛
I liked:
  • RK-Madhu scene - It was gentle, poignant. For the first time, I could sense Madhu's fear, of losing RK, of separation. RK also felt the same...though he was trying to cheer up Madhu.
  • Joshi's confidence and his plan.👏. I hope he gets his promotion, he deserves it.
  • Paddy 's dialogue to Rji - yeh bachche kuch bhi dhang se nahi karte...😆
  • RK-Madhu's entry, clutching each other's hands tightly. Madhu sees the arrangements, and I thought I saw a semblance of relief, and some confidence creeping, once she understood the plan.
  • RK-Madhu on stage - I loved this scene. I loved it that finally, finally Madhu says she will end her life if anything untoward happens. Their heartfelt promise to each other, and their parting...a short distance from the stage to the central courtyard, was done very well.
  • i loved it when Madhu tightened her grip on RK when she thought she saw Sultan.
  • Basically, both of them are wary and tense, and gripped by a vague fear because of the uncertainty of the unfolding drama. I thought the tension was brought out well.
Random musings:
  • For the past two weeks, we have been hearing, that Sultan is like toofan, shatir dimaag, theda aadmi...and today RK himself told Joshi, that Sultan was not to be taken lightly.
  • If I put aside my intense dislike for the character and the innumerable bloopers, he brought with him, then maybe I should start thinking that Sultan is indeed all powerful and capable of overthrowing RK. He has a mole in the family, he has his own network of spies, he is also well connected..
  • Bas then i will start enjoying the drama of this week's episodes, and see this particular track for what it is, end of a story, a chapter in RK-Madhu's life. I am already enjoying in anticipation of the 'exit', no doubt there. 😆👏
  • The problem is we, as viewers need to move on...the track is nearing its denouement, certain bloopers will not be explained away. However, there is serious damage control happening. Episodes seem better, crisp, tight, like they used to be, not completely there yet, but getting there. One character's dialogue delivery still falls flat😆...well..no comments. 😃
  • I'm saying this because I was happy to see the TRP trend. the general public has been waiting for this track to end, and they are coming back. That proves most of us right here (very important😆😉)!!
  • Much more important, it provides a much needed boost for the PH, to execute their story the way they deem fit

👏To an almost perfect episode! I liked the execution not to mention the bang on performances by the characters including Joshi n Paddo today besides Rishbala. In the bedroom scene, I liked RK's reference to them looking like Radha Krishna jodi. They were looking awesome throughout, especially when walking down the stairs and entering the chawl hand in hand. What a handsome pair, they make. Anyways it was funny when he said its the rule of society that humans be dressed to her query of why was she wearing this dress?🤣 When Madhu feels he's being flippant, he shows he means business by pulling her to him.😳 And lo and behold she is convinced.(I'd be too) .
Joshi is smart and alert as usual and efficiently details his plans, which by the way has already been leaked out to Bhai n his thugs. It was an aaaww moment when Madhu clings all the more to RK, when Joshi requests them to stay apart at the function.
Bhai getting ready to crash the Dahi Handi Celebration. And I mean literally getting ready with make up and costume reminding me of getting ready for fancy dress competitions and rallies in childhood.😆 He never ceases to entertain, now I'm beginning to think I might miss him after all. 🤣

At the chawl, I have to appreciate Paddo. Not only was she looking nice, she was talking and behaving sensibly. I loved her responses to Rji, for whom I'm feeling a little bad as she has been left in the lurch. But then again Rji is so gullible, its for the best I guess. Paddo's reassurance to Rji about RK Madhu were spot on and so was her reference to them not doing anything properly except making a beeline for each other.😃So glad Paddo came across as a concerned mother and not the usual hypocrite she is when she mouths her dialogues. Even her shocked reaction to having heard Sultan's mention from Dips was bang on. But then she had to do her "Hauslon Ka Veer" chant, considering the threat to her daughter's dignity n son in law's life, I let it pass.😃

Rji, media, the whole world and Sultan come feast ur eyes on the Perfect couple walking hand in hand. Only a fool would doubt their love and devotion to each other, just seeing them walk in hand is proof of how much they love each other. The remaining Rishbala scene with that heart felt rendition of "Hum Hain dewaane" just transported me to the good old days when I first fell in love with the couple and they with each other. It was perfectly executed by both of them. I like to give a special mention to VD,bcoz of late I'm observing he's becoming really good in the intense romantic scenes. DD has always perfected the RK Deewaani act, I also appreciated the fact that Madhu deemed it fit to reveal to us she would rather end her life than be anyone else's. Its nice to hear the words, after all the torture of seeing her ready to elope with the enemy. And I liked how the scene was executed where Madhu becomes uneasy realizing the unwelcome attention of the creep on her. She sensed his filthy look on her and not his presence, just clarifying. All in all I conclude one of the better episodes of the show.
