I was surprised Kavita even had a hit song in the past 2 years. Couldn't recall any. And this is probably why, the one she has, Sonu Nigam was the primary singer. Nonetheless, she did have some quality lines for herself.

Overall, in this song, in the lines she was given, she did a solid job. Her voice quality isn't as good as it used to be in the 90s though. Which is not shocking since that was her prime and this isn't. Nonetheless, it's still good, and I felt a lot of expressions also in her singing. Overall, I felt her high pitches weren't as good as they usually are, once again, the effect of age is present.

So though this wasn't the usual great Kavita performance, it was still good. However, the voice quality and ability just wasn't as good as it usually is for me. And combining that with the limited lines....I would have to go with

A very beautiful song. But it was highly dominated by Sonu ji. Kavita ji had very minimal singing in it. Therefore my rating will not be high. It is very hard to judge when the singer doesn't have much of singing in the song. If I were rating Sonu ji the score would be higher as he was the dominat singer in this song.

There really isn't much I can comment on Kavita ji's part. From what she sang, she sang it beautifully. But for her part there were barely any variations. She had good voice modulation and it was very easy to connect with her voice. She had the feeling in the song. She had a very sweet voice.

Final ratiing: 6.5 but I don't think it deserves the 7 therefore I will have to round down to a 6. I love Kavita ji. Actually she's my 2nd favorite after Alka ji. But I just think that this song didn't give justice to her voice as much as other songs have.

7 /10.

Well, I have listened to this song many times and don't agree with the fact that her age has led to less than stellar voice quality in this song. If alkaji, lataji and ashaji sound as melodious even at their present age as they did 2-3 decades ago, why can't she?

Well, this song has only about 6-7 percent contribution from kavitaji, and the nature of composition doesn't give you much scope for modulation. Some songs themselves are disappointing, this one too as she sounded a bit tired and sang flat. Not the usual kavitaji that I expected. She still is blessed with a melodious voice, but is completely overshadowed in today's times.

Wow..Sonu Nigam and Kavita..what a combination!

The starting from Sonu Niigaam is really soulful and full of expressive passion. Coming to Kavita's singing. The voice seems a bit low in energy as compared to the male counter-part. I felt a bit strain in the voice as well.

The innocence of expression is there, but the passion seems missing. The pronunciation is not as clear as it should be. I felt that the singer was uncomfortable with singing Punjabi, the true Punjabi accent is missing, on the contrary it can easily be felt in the male's singing. There was no particular difficulty in the singing and the voice did not come out as clean as it should. However, the voice quality does create an impact.

Summing up my evaluation for this song, I would like to say that it was definitely above average singing, but not more than that, so for this I would like to give a 6 out of 10.

Hmmmm, this is probably the best of the bunch, but now the problem that arises is the male singer, Sonu Nigam. He overshadowed her to such an extent, that all her outstanding efforts had almost gone to waste. In fact, if this contest wasn't about her, I'd not have noticed her as much. She was wonderful!!!! I'll give her an 8!
