The 'K' factor walks away with the crown

by Meenakshi Shankar

Aug 18, 2008, Mumbai

It was a finale worth writing home about. From the very day the show hit the floor, Ganesh Hegde, the choreographer had pegged the Kash-Krushna-Mukul trio as sure shot winners.

The Grand Finale was between Krushna-Kashmera-Mukul Dev and the Tina-Karnvir-Teejay...a finale that went neck to neck because the competition was tough.

In a jocular mood, Krushna brushed aside all the controversy surrounding the "Ekta's "K" factor worked. Our names start with K and during the show I changed Mukul's name to Kool so that the "K" factor works for us as well and it worked"

The Finale will see the two finalist trios performing on three different numbers – one with the pyaar, another with the yaar and the final one featuring all the three. "We performed on a very unique concept in our final performance." And Mukul's on cloud nine and refuses to budge from the elated position. "I cannot believe that we have won. Kash and Krushna are fantastic dancers. I had to raise the bar to meet their standards. And the competition was tough. Everytime we thought, we did better, our competitors struck back with a heavier blow."

Their jodi was the only one which had one woman and two men, contrary to the two women one man combination. Kash says, "It is only Krushna's trust which kept me going...";to which Krushna adds, "Kash has always put our relationship ahead of everything else. This is what I love the most about her."

Watch the Grand Finale of Kabhi Kabhie Pyaar Kabhi Kabhi Yaar @ 8PM only on Sony Entertainment Television.

Mumbai:

Sameera Reddy has been diagnosed with somnambulism (see box).

The actress has encountered with a lot of weird and funny incidents because of this condition.

Sameera confirms, " Yes I do walk in my sleep with my eyes open. I discovered I had it when I was a kid. It sounds funny and we laugh about it, but my parents have gone through sleepless nights. They have become light sleepers since they were always worried about me walking out of the house."

Used to it now

She further adds, "We stay on the ninth floor and I used to walk in my sleep, towards the big windows in the hall. This frightened my parents so much that they ended up putting grills and started double-locking the windows."

The actress reveals that she has consulted doctors for the condition, "I took homeopathic treatment. I tried a lot for a cure but now I don't want to do all of that. I am quite used to it and I normally tend to walk around only in my room, subconsciously."

Freaking 'em out

The actress reveals that a lot of funny and scary incidents have occurred while she has been away from her home, while on location. She shares, "People who aren't aware of my sleepwalking get petrified. Once while I was shooting outdoor, in the middle of the night I woke up and was trying to break the door lock. It woke up all the cast and crew on the same floor, and they all wondered what I was up to!"

"At another shoot, one night we all were having conversations about ghosts. Later that night, I started talking in my sleep, and it scared the pants off everyone around" she adds.

Sameera is normally accompanied by an assistant on her shoots. She says, "And as I have grown older, I have learned to control it up to a point."

A walk while dreaming on...

Sleepwalking (also called somnambulism or noctambulism) is a parasomnia or sleep disorder where the sufferer engages in activities that are normally associated with wakefulness while he or she is asleep or in a sleep-like state. Sleepwalking is usually defined by or involves the person affected apparently shifting from his or her prior sleeping position and moving around and performing normal actions as if awake. It is inexact to assume that somnambulists are unconscious during their nocturnal sleepwalking episodes. They are simply not conscious of their actions on a level where memory of the sleepwalking episode can be recalled.
