I have watched gen 2 here and there. Kartik's love story began with a love triangle of Gayu and Naira. They sorted that out perfectly. Then he was blamed for Naira's mother's death. I dun remember the details. Naira also was miffed with him. This happened before the marriage.

People all go ga ga for Kaira couple and comparing them with OG AbhiRa as if both of the couples are polar apart when in fact makers recreated gen 2 in gen 3. Falling in love part was different. Kartik was such a guy who even doubted Naira's character, thinking she had an affair with some guy I dun remember (business partner I think). She left the house after that without telling Kartik she was pregnant. First time she was kicked from the house because of Swarna's son's death. Kartik along with Swarna also blamed her as well. Then they brought Sirat after Naira died and the second love saga happened.

So I dunno why some people think Kartik was some great person and Kaira are best in that aspect. Abhi never doubted Ak's character and even when he thought Abhir was not his child, he never saw her as a shallow character nor bashed her for the past incident but was in pain seeing his love had moved on when they first met in leap 2. Infact he helped her new husband and Abhir. He also remained to love Akshara till his death after he died. So if I have to choose between Kartik and Abhi I will choose Abhi because his love was unconditional and distincitive despite having circumstance similar to Kartik.
