I think, I would more highlight the line:

"Throughout the film, he delivers a strong performance, exhibiting versatility wherever the storyline allows." (according to what I've seen in the promotional parts of the movie...and already mentioned in my comments).

But I feel that I can relate to what you put in bold, too.
