In 2021 , on Diwali when Rishi is finance minister

UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak unveiled a new 5-pound commemorative coin celebrating the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi to mark the festival of Diwali on Thursday.

In 2022 on Diwali he is Uk pm , who knows we may get our stolen wealth back .

I don't think anyone believes he thinks of himself as Indian. He's British.

But it still feels good to see an Indian origin PM of Great Britian because of history. Poetic justice and all that... not exactly but close enough.

Not the same as Indian Twitter going GA GA over Kamala Harris 😆.

He and his kids are British. I doubt he’ll do anything in favour of India simply because he’s of Indian origin.

I don't understand why India feels the need to celebrate his ascent to the post of British PM. For one thing his parents were from East Africa and not India. They immigrated to UK from Africa. At the end of the day he is British citizen born and brought up in UK.

His only valid connection with India is through his wife.

Indians made a big fuss about Indian PM's Italian wife and they call they keep telling their children to go back to Italy when they are Indians born and brought up in India.

Now Indians celebrating this event reeks of hypocrisy.
