I think Imlie being forced into something she doesn’t want for a third time is plain awful. But from a story standpoint, how it played out is actually a pretty great twist. We all spent days speculating on the reason behind Imlie completing the 7th phera. But this is one nobody expected to happen. It properly fulfilled the purpose of a ‘twist’ and gripped my interest. So in a way, I’m looking at this as Amma’s gift to Imlie. The gift of time.
I got really pissed off that Imlie would go off like a wild hog on the word " karz and ehsaan"😡 For her at the moment, it seems like only the words count and not actions😭. She is like that teenager/high schooler who feels that everyone who sides with them and say what they want to hear ( your parents are really tough etc ) as their soulmates, but parents and well-wishers who take a tough stance are foes. How old is she again?🤢
This is the mother who brought her up against all odds stacked against her. She protected her from that horrid nakli naani😒. She did the best within her means. She was somebody who was a stable influence in her life. Which parent wouldn't say "shape up, or else"😭 I am sooo disappointed in Imlie. I guess, now Aparna gets the coveted Imlie ki maa position😡 Ewwww......
I am glad Meethi stood her ground despite all the abuse meted out by her daughter. This is very much like my middle schooler who says " you are worst mommy possible " when bedtimes get imposed on her. But, she needs the worst mommy to tuck her in and chase away ghosts from under her bed🤔
She has a lot of growing up to do. I wish ASR gives her the tough love and doesn't enable her mahaanta which BTW, she thinks is all hers🤢
Technically, she is still a teenager since she’s shown as being 19 right now. I don’t know if it’s because of her feisty personality or because we know that she’s had significantly more exposure to adult issues compared to others her age, but I think people are unduly short with her. She’s still much too inexperienced. A baby, really. While I get what you’re saying, I also feel that we should allow her the benefit of the doubt. When did she even get to experience normal growth at a normal pace, typical of her age? Sure, every parent issues ultimatums like the one you’ve mentioned (in bold) at some point, but I think people need to understand that this ultimatum is not the same as those. This is not even an ultimatum. It’s asking for payment, at the expense of her free will. In saying that giving her life is a debt to be repaid, Amma regrettably made their relationship come across as transactional. This is what utterly broke Imlie. This is why she tells Amma that they will no longer share an intimate, personal relationship. What I saw happen in this scene, is a child heard something that should never be heard from a parent and in response, a parent heard something that should never be heard from a child. They are both in just as much pain, if not one more than the other. Let’s acknowledge both their pain.

What the heck was that !!!! How do you go about doubting your mom who brought you up in the midst of unimaginable adversity with a devil like nakli naani in a tribal village full of customs and superstitions😡. I, toh thoroughly enjoyed ASR's shaadi though. Fate ( or is it Sita maiyaa😊) intervened and finally shaadi is over. Khoon se bhara maang😃Zor se thappad pada for Imlie by destiny👍🏼But looks like he is very suspicious of Imlie's actions.

From a daughter’s standpoint, me neither. I’d feel too betrayed and devastated to trust again if this were to actually happen to me. And this is me as a grown ass woman. What of a teenager?
