I have always felt Virat is not what he thinks he is or what he portrays to be. From the beginning you can see that his moral compass always depends on what is being shown by his near and dear ones .
In the beginning his whole Farz thing took a seat in his head from BK's constant jaap about Nagesh Kakka's Farz. Later before he left for Gharchiroli, Ninad told him about his farz and zimmedari. Once he reached GC, Kamal sir became his compass. Once Sai came into his life, she became the one to show his right path. And many times when he went out of line, it was Aswini who served as his moral compass.
The way I have interpreted it is - I could be wrong - he always needs someone's guiding light to show his right path. He himself is not exactly capable of doing that. Best examples are how he forgets right vs wrong whenever Paki tries to mislead through her cunning ways and now with Sruthi - He just took decision by himself. His guiding lights are missing here. Neither did he allow any of them to show him the right path.
Virat is a flawed character but I think now he comes across as severely flawed. Someone who in his profession should definitely have a good sense of what is right and what is not. Its part of his job profile. He thinks what he is doing is right but his history shows otherwise. Whenever he took decisions himself without his guiding lights, he always ended up in a big mess. Example - Vaada to Paki, Vaada to Sada. His Emotional Quotient is so low and thats why he ends up creating all these hot messes in his life.
