Episode 35
The show is becoming too miserable, I love tragedies, I feel i am sadistic, but even after that the way this show is reaching its culmination, it is brutal, I do not know how miserable the first season was but I can say one thing that nobody thought that the story was being unfair or cruel, but here it feels like the way they are progressing, there is no hope, either we will see honor killing of Farhad, or some kind of tragic end of Farhad, irrespective of how he deserves to have a peaceful life too.
Amma sai-Mahi
Mahi is just so lucky, people like Romana, Sahiba, Fakira and now Amma sai are fighting for her love , when she herself is conveniently mute and crying foul. WOW, I am very impressed with Hina bayat's performance and infact her whole character sketch is such a joy, she really loves Mahi as a daughter and only wants to see her happy. I loved how she never insulted Farhad's back ground or his choice of being a jogi, given he is not anywhere near Mahi's so called hypocrite peer khandan, infact she encouraged Mahi to go to the ahrine along with her and may be reconcile with Farhad. However, what pissed me off is the way Mahi responded. We are seeing the same bakwaas of her crying over her family's response ever since 7th episode when Farhad made his first confession, and there is literally no character development, what is this character even? I am not saying she should jump and marry Farhad, but at least claim your love, he literally is turning the world upside down for you and you hesitate to even name him or barely fight for him?
Mahi's love?
Well what type of love is this? Not selfless for sure.. Love is something that makes you fearless, the passion, the mere feeling of separating from the man (who literally can die for you) jolts all your bones and makes you rebel for the honor of that love, it makes you prioritize him at least once, even if temporarily. Mahi's character sketch and her love is the worst, hands down the worst I have ever seen in any drama. No depth nothing, heck she does not even think about what Farhad wants, all she did is force him to leave the place so that she can happily start afresh, WOW, maan gaye mohabbat ko. I do not understand that why does she think that Farhad is in the mazaar because of her, NO, he is not. He came here because he was helplessly torn and he needed to reside in solitude and wanted to live here with the little peace he started to find, but no, this woman had to come and traumatize him again with the khokla after life promise and make him feel useless again and then force him to leave. Ye kaisi mohabbat kiya hai Mhai ne Farhad ko jo ek baar Farhad kya chahta hai, woh nahi soch saki, for her it is all about her family, her guilt, her chains, her self pity, Farhad is nowhere, and he never will be anywhere.
Farhad's selfless love
The more they show about him being selfless, the more miserable it is becoming, and he is not just being selfless because he loves Mahi, that idea of making others happy comes to him naturally. He asks Sikka to meet Romana once, so that Roma gets a closure which she deserves, he knows that Sikka is marrying Mahi, and he also knows that people like Roma is not going to be accepted in a jagirdar family, hence he just asks Sikka to meet Roma. A man who himself got nothing but zillat, was pleading for someone else's closure, and this is called growing in love and coming out of the bitterness, this is what empathy is. If that is not enough, he is constantly blaming himself now, saying that it was all his day dream and Mahi has no fault, she only wants to keep her family safe and sound. The moment Farhad tells Sikka that 'Mahi only met me to ask me to leave so that your reputation is not at risk', broke my heart, imagine how Farhad feels about the fact that he is so ill fated that uski jagah ek mazaar mei bhi nahi hosaka, and he is responsible for ruining someone's reputation, I think this burden and fear of Mahi and her family reputation is eating up him alive and thus he is begging that please do not punish her😭. In all this mess, nobody cared to even ask that what he wants, he of course does not want Mahi anymore, but everyone came and made him feel that he is the only problem in their otherwise calm life and thus he will leave to make others happy. Romana comes to fulfill her mannat, Mahi comes to get rid of her guilt, Nazim Shah comes to kill him, Baba fakeer sai endowed him with all the responsibilities and left and now Sikka comes and questions him in a way as if he called Mahi to meet him, in all these, he still wants to make everyone happy🥺
One of the best scenes of this episode was Farhad praying and the OST in the background, what a beautiful shot it was and the moment he raises his hand he only sees her, that innocent love which he had for her in Bahawalpur and he prays for her only, her reputation, her happiness and her future. And once he is done, he gets Flash backs of her rejection, her humiliation and her recent wish of her leaving, it makes him feel so meager that all he ever received from her was rejection, even if she loved him (useless), he knows that she will never accept him, because he does not have anything apart from love to ever win her consent. That silence and his eyes were only saying that 'my presence never made her happy, and I only gave her sadness'😭. I do not know how to describe this, but I felt that Farhad looked so helpless that he is responsible for the current chaos in Mahi's life and he would just run away, but he cannot even break Baba sai's trust because Baba sai is the only one who believed in him and made him gather himself when he was at his worst. The way he begs that 'Give me few days and I will leave', scares me, he will leave forever as they all want and never come back, I do not want to believe that they would kill him, he deserves to leave and not get such a cruel death, he does not 🥺
I am so disappointed that Noora did not tell Dilawar that who his victim was, even though Noora knows very well that Dilawar loves Farhad, my heart sinked the moment Dilawar said that why kill a harmless fakeer, he already is hesitating but his loyalty being questioned. They are setting up the stage of Farhad dying in Dilawar's arms, even if Dilawar does not kill him, he will still witness Farhad's death, it is going to be more than heart breaking and I am not ready.😭
Today's episode belonged to Feroze and Hina bayat, such powerful performances. Feroze's voice and the way he delivers his lines, i do not think any award or appreciation can justify that madness, that passion and subtle bebaasi which he brings, like his voice makes you feel that Farhad feels this suffering in his bones, such a good performance, take a bow. Hina Bayat did excellent, I would have skipped that scene but I did not because she cried so beautiful holding Mahi in her arms.
