I saw the episode my 2 cents

I saw the episode on tv .. I felt it was a normal extended family scene .. it happens when wife gets hurt .. the husband gets upset .. even Sai was shocked and she was finding it difficult to process .. that virat was openly taking her side

Since it was her birthday she did not want to pin point pakhi ..

Virat saw from his angle .. it happens in joint family .. when he said it is unacceptable for pakhi to behave like this .. he meant she cannot misbehave with his wife .. it was culmination of many weeks issues .. maybe he was taking out Bharaas of what happened in harini birthday , then sari drama .. so many things happened wen pakhi was clearly at fault and virat had to keep quiet today he gave it back

When pakhi said she wants to leave .. he told herIt’s are samrat’s wife who am I to ask you to leave .. that was a good dialog

Pakhi’s status to stay in the house is through samrat n Mansi .. and maybe kaku .. virat is nobody to keep her or throw her out .. he made it clear ..

I am glad Sai kept quiet and let her husband speak in his twisted family ..

But, you wrote something that reminded me of something I loved in the episode but forgot to mention. I completely agree with you about Virat telling Pakhi he is no one to kick her out of the house. He made very clear that her rights to the house are through Samrat only, and through that, he made clear that he has no rights over her. The progression in Virat even since Harini’s birthday has been truly amazing to watch. Before, he kept quiet when Pakhi and the rest of the family were abusing Sai in the aftermath of the pool scene, even though he was already in love with Sai. But, his love has now reached the point where he will not tolerate anyone hurting his wife. There is nothing above their relationship for him. I wrote this somewhere else too, but one of the most powerful scenes in yesterday’s episode was Virat standing in front of her as her shield, protecting her from the family. That was deeply symbolic, and I hope the makers keep that in mind along with his indifference towards Pakhi as they move ahead with the insecurity track.

Lovely post. Yes, I too loved when he said that he's no one to throw her out of the house. He made it very clear that she's his brother's wife and her rights in the house to stay is only through his brother. This was very powerful.

I loved this scene too. It was symbolic.

Yes I was reading ur points .. that’s why I just wrote what I felt when I saw the full episode on tv .. I hope virat protects her .. as he had promised when he married her .. but virat himself is an insecure person .. if Sai does as he wishes he is happy .. if she doesn’t .. he gets upset

Thank you for pointing out the episode from this angle. I agree with you as well mostly except didn't like how Virat was manhandling Pakhi. I understand he has done it out of rage and it's fair enough t. But end of the day she is his Bhabi. I don't think Samrat would like to see his wife is treated that way.

Sai was quite shaken after the accident. So she couldn't fathom how to react. But she was the one who acted as the piece maker at downstairs .Though I didn't feel that push was intended. Sai was dragging her and Pakhi jerked off so hard hence Sai lost balance.

I wrote this as a comment in another post. Just posting it here. If it makes you feel any better. I know how you feel because as soon as I saw that scene, I was very upset with Sai. A few friends of mine cleared my misconception. Only then I understood and I could write the below.

Sai thought that she was pushed by Pakhi.

Sai didn’t face Pakhi to know that it was unintentional.

Pakhi didn’t rush to Sai to help her, this would only affirm Sai’s thoughts because if it was unintentional, people would feel sorry and rush to the person whom they have hurt but Pakhi didn’t budge.

Hence Sai’s first statement that it was a gift by Pakhi because she could now make sense out of everything. She could only now see that Pakhia actually hates her so much that she didn’t want to attend her party and headache was just an excuse. She could see that Pakhi didn’t care about her, pushed her and even then didn’t feel sorry. It was this shock, discovery of the reality and hurt that came out as her telling Virat that Pakhi gifted her this. She didn’t expect this since she genuinely cared about Pakhi’s headache, she genuinely wanted Pakhi to be part of the celebration but all she got was hostility as always. Hence even though Sai misunderstood it, it was the circumstances and Pakhi’s unapologetic behavior that made her think that Pakhi hurt her. She was hurt that she was concerned for Pakhi and went to call her but Pakhi has hurt her. That came out as sarcasm to Virat as soon as he saw her.

It is interesting you pointed out the symbolism of Virat shielding Sai from his family. I've alway felt that Virat is slowly registering his family's faults to a certain extent since Sai's ousting. Acting on the information - he still has lot of room for improvement and consistency. Since the past few episodes, he has been shown to be a little more assertive. I hope he continues to improve true to the spirit of the symbolism shown. But if he gets manipulated/influenced by his elders during the upcoming insecurity track, I won't be surprised. Perhaps, he will fall low and rise up be even more determined to protect his wife. Let us see what happens....

His dialogue to Pakhi yesterday was telling - that no one understands the hate Pakhi carries for Sai better than him. He has been observing it and keeping it all in trying to maintain a civil relationship with her - but after the physical show of hate, he lost it all. If he gets manipulated by Pakhi in the upcoming kaand, I would not know how to make sense of it.
