Why do Big stars marry average looking people?

I have always wondered this. Its a big mystery. I mean if I was Amitabh or Sharukh Khan, I would try to find myself the most beautiful looking girl in world, but why did these two and so many other Superstars marry average looking people, I have no Idea.

I wonder if they ask themselves this question and regret their decisions

I think srk met his wife at age 15 or something like that, they were both teenagers so he was not a big star and the shocking part was her parents was refusing the marriage with him, they didn't want him with her, he looks better than her but I am assuming it's because of different religion maybe not sure about their real life story.

Big B I heard on this forum that it was jaya who used to recommend him in movies, did she launch him in movies? if not than I don't know why he marry her. Rekha is more beautiful and fit than her. I was going to say personality but jaya seems upset and mean all the time not sure why.

But your right I have seen so many famous people with average looking people or not so good looking person maybe the not so good looking girl won't leave them if they mess up or have bad attitude with them.

Jaya isn't average looking. She was quite pretty in her youth. She just stopped giving a damn about looks as she got older whereas her contemporaries like Hema, Rekha got botox and look decked up all the time.

Also, looks isn't everything. If I were a big star I wouldn't marry someone for their looks alone. I need a combination of everything. But then I also live in the real world so I know you cannot get everything. So if I have to compromise on something, it may be looks, rather than character, loyalty, compatibility, sense of humour, among others.

Becuase they want, duh! Srk-gauri were in love for ages before they got married. Jaya and Amitabh had a relationship na?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Why does anyone marry anyone? the reasons are as varied as people are and in India marriages have a bunch of strings attached to it, something that hopefully will be brought to this century eventually...

But love could be a good reason to marry anyone, social norms, expectations from a life partner, physical attraction or a quality like intelligence, humor, outlook etc.. that makes them attractive. The public does not need to be privy to whatever makes the relationship tick, only the couple needs to share that private common ground. PLUS Not only celebs marry people others find odd, yet the couple seems content, I have met plenty odd couples who stay married forever, much to the surprise of everyone.

p.s this is a bit of a backwards subject because how do you judge who is ugly or attractive in someone else's head? Thank GOD for different tastes or all humans would be fighting over a handful of things/people while the majority went unwanted.

Not to be reading too much into the lines, but all the examples spoke of how women are the ugly ones who got beautiful men, not the other way around. Maybe I am overthinking this🤷‍♀️

You got to ask that question to Jaya not Amitabh because it was Jaya the Superstar who married not just a smaller star than her but also a struggling star at that time. It’s because of his association with Jaya, he got introduced to the ace movie makers like Hrishikesh. So yeah ask Jaya what she was thinking when she married an average looking flop actor. :/

Because looks aren't everything in a relationship and these big stars can always find action outside marriage with good looking people if they want it.

Most celebs marry compatible people rather than just good looking people because they will most probably cheat with very good looking people on the low. Why just risk your marriage by only marrying based on looks.

And your both examples are dumb af because neither big b or Srk are quite fugly themselves. Especially srk. His attractiveness 200% based on his charisma.

Secondly, those are incorrect examples - SRK married before he was a star. Between BigB and Jaya, Jaya was the bigger star at that time

Finally, there is something called attraction. You can be attracted to many things in a person, not just looks and beauty. For a serious commitment like marriage, attraction most likely takes precedence over looks
