It's blind love for their only child. I have seen this, parents of single child are sometimes blind to their child's flaws and mistakes.

True. One should maintain a balance, not to extremely strict or linient.

I mean, they knew that samraat was her so called true love's brother, they should've cancelled the wedding.

First I thought that her father is supportive like Kamal but then I am beginning to like her mother more because she is realising to some extent their parenting mistakes to some extent .... Examples are there in the show

Pakhi ki Aai phir bhi sensible hai. Uske Baba ne bigad ke rakha hai ise. She was right when she called out Pakhi for believing Virat's Vaada bullshit. She even told that "Virat Sai ka ho chuka hai". Ab Vaishali ka tareeka galat hai, but she's trying to instill some saddhbuddhi in her daughter unlike Shailesh who just mollycoddles her.
