Today's episode was all about this.

A woman who degrades herself in front of a man she claims to love only to make him move on. She puts a facade on her face & doesn't allow anyone to see through. The romanticization of sacrifice & haunting silence as the only way to prove true love seems to have etched deep in her mind that she refuses to see beyond it to the extent that she finds herself deserving of mental & physical pain by her lover even at cost of herself. She doesn't react to the slap from the man but smiles at it as a deserving reward for her actions.

A lover who buys that facade despite having adorned that facade not so long ago for his love. He contradicts himself when he says that what he with Komo was for love but fails to see through the facade of his lover beyond her words. He fails to observe the pattern of the events & read face of the woman he claims to love. He seeks verbal explainations from her, not remembering his own situation. On one hand, he seems to doubt Bajaj but on the other hand he fails to believe his heart that iterated that Prerna couldn't do this. But atlast the words coming from the woman's mouth make more imapact over his own conscience that believed otherwise. Last time, the woman failed to see through the facade & righfully so because she couldn't think of something like this but this man not being able to see through it makes it bigger because he has suffered this literal hell once. He took the same decisions to protect his loved ones, while wearing a facade & suffering alone.

True test of love is not in happy times & togetherness, it's in separation & anger. Anger brings a dimension that can be easily masked when everything is under control but a real person can be seen & identified only in his/her anger which comes to fore when things are out of control.

Anurag's anger & slap didn't come from Prerna degrading herself or chastizing him for a reaction of absolute hatred. It came from his own failure to having not been able to see through the woman he thought he knew very well. The frustration at his own failure & incapability reflects in his slap. It comes from being proven wrong. Anurag is known to have reacted like this before once on Nivi when she questions him about his failure to not inform her about Bajaj & Anurag angrily retorted with how could Nivi do anything when he failed to do anything with all information at hand. That scene highlighted his ego. He doesn't like to be proven a failure or to be questioned on his capabilities. When Prerna talks about how she did it for money, Anurag sees his own incapability & failure through those words. His ego played a dangerous power dynamic where he ends up he slapping her. He slaps her because subconsciously he thought "how dare she". Prerna didn't slander him directly but indirectly Anurag saw it as a slander against his beliefs & his capabilities. Anurag's mind processed Prerna's self-degrading words as a humiliating challenge being thrown at him. That's the flawed Anurag beneath the charade of a gentleman.

Somewhere, his own trust about this woman has been taken over by what he has been hearing about this woman for long from people around her- her mother, her sister, Naveen, Komo, Ronit. Till now, he had rejected it because she was there in front of him presenting a contrasting picture to what all those people said. But now when it comes directly from her mouth, he fails to understand the difference & takes it at face value. He is so immersed in being betrayed & narcissitic self that he doesn't recognize the woman behind her facade & the woman doesn't intend to help him in realizing the real self behind the facade.

Ideally, this is normal for people to fail & see any reason when they are betrayed because human behavior is fundamentally flawed to keep itself at the center of everything that happens around & do profit-loss even in worst of the situations. But, when the ideals & standards are set high, anything less becomes absolutely unacceptable.

Both Prerna & Anurag have been impulsive when it comes to saving the loved ones. But Prerna doesn't get frustrated at her family but Anurag is thoroughly incapable of handling multiple things together & his own frustration.

A healthy relationship demands communication but it also demands understanding of the silence as well. Sometimes, silence is the biggest answer one should seek after.

The toxicity leads to unhealthy obsession & vice versa. Anurag is so immersed in Prerna's taunting words that he doesn't want to achieve in life for himself or because he should or to prove her wrong but because he wants to gain her as a trophy. The lover reduced his love to a mere reward he deserves to get after his success. There lies the toxicity that has turned to obsession & the obsession will lead to futher toxicity in Anurag & this extreme may unknowingly push Prerna away from him to a man named Bajaj who she may find stable after some time. Anu's impulsiveness & Bajaj's calm demeanor will be the reason for Prerna getting attracted to Bajaj's calm demeanor & stability after some time.

P.S- Shoutout to Anupam for being able to see pain Prerna is in. There is atleast a man who noticed something unusual.

well said. Agree

Question is that they show somless of ksg that losing interest by the day in this show.

Reruns are not supposed to be boring unless badly executed .

Pride and prejudice has been done so many times, but it is watchable everytime.

Problem is that i do not like the main leads except ksg.

Had liked erica in the previous show, here she is completely different.

Serial is too serious with no cute or light moments other than bajaj dialogues which kind of echo our thoughts , he did say that whole basu family talks rubbish.

His face said it all when he told prerna to be calm and she shrieked at him saying how can she be calm when her anu is injured.

[/QUOTE have fast forwarded all anu pre scenes , not wirth the effort, trauma to the eyes, ears and mind.

But think ekta and her writers have been heavily influenced by kabir singh so gave us these scenes.

Arshi....👏 for the effort you took to portray how human emotions and their hidden self can get played with odd situations. And as i like to understand how a situation can be comprehended differently by different people, i enjoyed reading your post.

Having said that, i hope i can freely express my thoughts on Anurag's slap here. Contrary to what you have written that it is his ego that led to the slap, what i felt is that it is the pain seeing Pre degrading herself for a man like Bajaj that led him to slapping her. Atleast that's what i could sense from Parth's expression at that moment. I will not go by the dialogues that was given to Anu after that to make us believe that he has taken whatever Pre said on its face value. Because, from today's episode and the upcoming spoilers it is clear that AnuPre will be acting as pendulums in the hand of the CVs. So, i am not giving any importance to this Swiss track. Also, i have not believed what Bajaj told Pre in yesterday's episode that, it is not to destroy Anu that he married Pre. It may not be the only reason; But IT IS A REASON. To me, Bajaj is still that shrewd business person who was shown in the initial episodes. And i will not go with his words, until the real story starts when all 3 are back in Kolkatta.

Good one.

Now it makes me wonder can it be termed as love? I see no proper communication n now no understanding too when it is most required. She had given him enough clues before marriage. Knowing his character he cud have analyzed it like how he did with Bajaj's statements.

Both just want their togetherness which I dont see will serve any purpose apart from lengthy promises. Both just behaving on the spur of the moment. Typical teenage stuff IMO.

As I said in AT, Bajaj is another reason for their seperation and not the only reason. If not Bajaj, anyone wud have easily done that job in future and their relationship wud not have lasted for even few months.

True..even i feel that.

There is no need to talk about already much talked about Bajaj's bad things here again. Anurag did bad. Accept it.

He does want to destroy Basus. Not just the business like Prerna assumed. He has a dark sad past and has revenge on him.

And there lies the problem of the new viewers who arrived with Bajaj. This show was phenomenal until he arrived. Even Komo didn't make a dent in the real love story.

I agree with you on this part

Slap was really pathetic...... Neither she insulted him nor degraded his family like he does before

Frankly speaking one needs to have a very average amount of intelligence to see that Anurag is suffering in life due to his own deeds, yet people conveniently blame everything on prerna, and don’t even condemn cowardly and crap acts like slapping a woman? I have never seen a more biased fandom in my life! Even then it has become about how the relationship is toxic, or that prerna is this or that, no one has the guts to call physical violence against the woman exactly as what it is! I am deeply appalled!
