NT looked at Dev and Geet who came out of Dev's car from a distance, bidding bye to Geet ,Dev came to her..(kissing her cheeks, he asked)
Dev- why this grumpy face?
NT(stern tone)- will you tell me for how long all this will continue, it has been two days since you are taking her out for lunch, you already know I love you and it effects me to see you with her!
Her complains fell on deaf ears as dev was not at all interested but still just to pacify her he answered..
Dev- NT you know how my mom is, now she wants me to spend time with Geet, and if I deny her then who will save me from dad, and if I lie to her then Geet will complain about me to her, I'm just struck in between..what to do..i told you na i'm just waiting for right chance so that i can talk about us to mom ,(holding her hands), you trust me right??, but she didn't answer as sometimes she feel so unsure about him..(not getting any reply he continued),I thought you will understand my problem but you too..,he made a sad face and it worked..
NT- it's not like that Dev don't get upset..I trust you..
Dev- really??
NT-hmm
Dev- thank u, you are best!, he hugged her, behind her back he sighed in relief as he again fooled her, He lied about his mom asking him to spend time with Geet, he himself wanted to spend time with her, as now he has developed a curiosity regarding Geet, he wants to know her fully but at the same time he doesn't want to breakup with NT too because what he can get for NT ,he can't get from Geet.. , plus cherry on top was that NT believes him easily.., so if he get benefit of situation then why not!
Lunch time was still going on so when Geet entered her class she only saw pari busy in her mobile seeing Geet , Pari kept her phone aside
Pari- so how was your lunch date?
Geet- date??, it was just a lunch !
Pari- don't lie, going out with your would be is called date not just lunch!, she teased,Geet lightly slapped her forehead and told..
Geet- you are thinking to much!
Pari- by the way don't you think this Dev is suddenly giving you attention, means before he didn't even spare a glance on you and now suddenly??
Geet- that because I proved him wrong, before he used think me as a villager but now his perception has changed!
Pari- so he is just with you because now you fit to his category!, is it correct??
Geet- I know what you are hinting at but see his POV too, he had grown up with this high society tag, is it wrong if he wants someone who matches to his level..
Pari- oh I didn't thought like that..you understand him well..so finally you fell in love with him.., to which Geet just smiled
Geet- I'm still getting to know him , i like him...
Pari- you just like him not love him??.
Geet- oh ho Pari , we are getting to know each other and eventually we will learn to love each other too..like arrange marriages!
Pari- accha tell me Geet how it feels to be in love??
Geet- actually I don't know how it feels to be in love!
Pari- then??
Geet- I don't know.. you will not understand what I feel someone who went from same phase will understand what exactly it feels like.., as she uttered those words her thoughts went to Reet and Maan , they too were like her and Dev, wish her Di was alive then it would have been so easy for her to share everything with her , she could ask her how she felt about Maan ,how it feels to be in love plus she would have understood her well too...
Time passed from Day to Night, but these questions didn't left her, placing Maan's coffee mug on table she sat opposite to him without her usual hi hello , Maan looked at her lost state...
Maan- Geet??
Geet- hmm??
Maan- anything wrong??, she just shook her head in no but then something clicked in her mind..
Geet(st)- he too must have felt the same emotion as what I'm feeling..should I ask him??...nahi nahi Geet he will definitely yell at you...but now he is not that rude, I should ask.., gathering her courage she opened her mouth..
Geet- Maan..
Maan- hmm
Geet- can I ask you something??
Maan, who was busy with his blueprints said, show what you are not understanding!
Geet- its not about studies..it's actually.., hearing her hesitation he looked up at her..
Maan- what is it??,speak out!
Geet- mm..it's bit personal.. but as you and Di too have went through all this so.. may I know what you both felt at that time..
Maan- I'm not understanding what you want to ask!
Geet- actually how's it feels to be in..mm.. love...I mean you and Reet Di, you both were in love na so how you both realized it's love, basically what's love??
The word Love brought back so many emotions which he buried long back in his heart but today all that past came back rushing to him..,in back of his brain Reet's same questioned played back..
Reet- what's love Maan??
Maan(lost in his past he said)- love is unreasonable..
Geet- unreasonable??, this brought him back closing his eyes he tried to get rid of his haunting memories but they were not ready to leave..,closing his file he left the study, Geet who was still trying to understand his definition, didn't understand his sudden exit but then reason it thinking he must have remembered Di..
Geet(st)- you shouldn't have asked him, looks like he is upset now..
While Maan was highly disturbed now, his love, his hurt, his guilt everything came back to him today..
Flashback
After roaming in whole KM finally Maan located her in lawn ,sighing he moved towards her, she was lost in her own thoughts playing with her engagement ring which few minutes back only he put on her finger..
Putting his arms around her shoulder he asked..
Maan(lovingly)- where are you lost my fiance??
Reet- what is love?
Maan- huh?
Reet- do you love me?
Maan- of course yes..have you forgotten it's me who proposed you and you said yes but still that three words are pending from your side!
Reet- why..why you love me??
Maan- you are not my wife still you have started questioning me like a typical wife.. good going..
Reet- Maan.. , seeing her serious he understood she is really serious..
Maan- okay you want to know why I love you??, there are so many reasons you are my best friend, you know me like no other, I'm comfortable with you, you care for me..aur kya kahu there are so many things..I'm bound to love you!
Reet- you have so many reasons..,her lost state worried Maan
Maan- kya hua, something wrong??, to which Reet just shook her head and gave him a small smile..
Maan- sure??
Reet- hmm..
Maan- okay as you say! so shall we go inside or are you planning to spend whole night in this freezing cold..
Few Days Later
Maan and Reet were in their college premises to check their final year result, as usual Maan topped and Reet too did well..
Reet- I need treat!
Maan rolled his eyes
Reet- what??
Maan- other than yes do I have another option..
Reet- I..but she was interrupted by one of the student..
Student- Maan principal sir has called you in his office..
Maan- oh..Reet..but she cut him in between
Reet- you go i'm waiting..
Maan- okay.., with he left to meet principal
Few minutes Later
When Maan returned back he didn't find Reet there..
Maan- where she went now??
He asked someone who told him that she went towards college's art hall..
Reaching art hall he tried to search her, but didn't find her there then he thought to check green rooms..
Passing from one room to another he tried to locate her , when he saw something which snatched the ground beneath his feet..
there Reet was in Raj's arm ,crying..
Reet- I love you Raj..
The words which he thought one day Reet will say to him were snatched brutally from him today..
Hugging her tightly Raj to confessed..
Raj- I love you too...I knew you will come back to me I knew..
Shocked and hurt Maan uttered Reet's name, surprised by Maan's presence Reet separated herself from Raj..
Reet- Maan.., but Maan was in his own world hurt by Reet's betrayal , he didn't even hear her and left from their in rage..
Reet tried to talk to him and clear everything but he was not ready to hear her out, whenever she came utter a word he used to get up and leave that place.., in the presence of family members she was not even able to shout on him but they noticed their indifference ,saying anything to Maan was waste as whenever they talk about him and Reet he used to leave..Reet felt because of her he is avoiding his family too...
One day when Maan returned from outside Dadima confronted him..
Dadima- Maan what's the matter..
Maan- what matter??
Dadima - u and Reet.., as he heard her name he took a step to leave but Dadima stopped her..
Dadima- dare you leave!, grabbing his hand she pulled him along with her, bringing him to terrace she asked to look at Reet, who was sitting in lawn crying.., seeing her this state Maan averted his gaze..
Dadima - don't turn your face Maan..it's because of you only, I don't know what had happened between you both but the way in which you are behaving with Reet is not good, the girl who's giggle used to fill this km with happiness is crying just because of you Maan.., Maan did feel bad to hurt her but what she did with him was hurting him more..
Maan- it's her mistake only..
Dadima- if it's her mistake at least give her chance to talk to you, why are you avoiding her, I have seen how she tries but every time you avoid her, why??
Maan- I wish I could explain you why.., saying so he left..
Evening
Knowing that Maan was in km only Reet thought to talk to him, she knew his anger but along with that she also knew one day he will listen to her ,she just have to keep trying, she knew she betrayed him ,she did wrong but she was helpless by her heart at that moment..
She reached on third floor where he practiced his martial arts.., as soon she reached he stopped abruptly, giving her a glance he broke the pile of wooden planks with one stroke..warning her to stay away but she was not any less she knew her friend if he is adamant then she is also not anyless..
Reet- I know you are angry, but at least listen to me..please..
Maan- leave me!
Reet- why??, but he didn't answer her, not getting any reply she continued, you always come to me to share your problems, I always listen to you without complains but when I'm here to share my inner feelings, you are telling me to leave..
Frustrated with her ,he grabbed her upper arms and pinned her on nearby wall..
Maan- What..what you want to me to hear , your love story! ( angrily he looked at her and continued), when you don't care for my inner feelings then why should i ?, bolo! (gritting his teeths he held her so tightly that his nails dug inside her skin hurting her)
Reet- aahh Maan..it's paining..,she cried in pain..,he was hurt by Reet but was angry on himself for not able to accept the reality, he was trying forget her betrayal but whenever she comes in front of him ,his anger overpowers him, frustrated with himself he left her angrily..
Maan- leave Reet..
Reet- not today Maan..you have to listen..I can't let you think wrong about me..you say I don't care about inner feelings..aisa nahi hai Maan..bacpan se aapne aap ko samjha hai that you are the one and only for me but..pata nahi kaise..Raj was your competitor in every field , I always supported you in everything ,always demotivated him,tried to show him low par pata nahi kab inn sab mei I fell for him..whenever I asked you why you love me you gave me so many reasons but when I think about Raj and try to find a reason for my love for him I get nun, I tried to forget him but..
Maan- but what!!, looking directly in her eyes he asked..
Reet- I failed..I failed Maan...I can't stop loving him...,My love for him is unreasonable... Maan closed his eyes due to immense which his heart felt at that moment..
Reet- I'm sorry Maan..please forgive me.., she cried..
Maan(his eyes were still closed)- you don't love me??
Reet- I do but as a friend..you are my best friend Maan.., she held his face in her palms, he opened his eyes to look at her, grabbing her left palm he removed the engagement ring from her finger..
Maan- you don't deserve it..., painfully he said..
Reet- I'm sorr.., but before she could complete he cut her in between..
Maan- leave..
Reet- Maan..
Maan- leave Reet , I listened you , now please leave..leave..., Reet knew he is in pain and needs his own time so she left, as she left he fell on his knees and shout out loud to get rid of all pain...
Next Day
From Geet , Reet got to know she is leaving for London tonight only, the news confused her as Maan a month back only planned her departing day which still had a week to go but now he only preponed it, she didn't ask him about this change in plan just silently packed her stuff, Geet and all were saying this and that but she was worried about Maan in afternoon Maan took her for a drive, without asking anything she went with him, their whole drive went in silence, stopping at a deserted area he stopped the car, coming out he sat at a nearby rock, she followed..not able to bear his silence anymore she spoke up..
Reet- at least say something.. but he didn't utter anything..,irritated by his silence she continued, at least tell me why you preponed my journey,last month we booked a ticket for next week then why today..
Maan- because your presence tortures me, I hate seeing your face ! , looking directly in her eyes he blurted out rudely..
Her eyes filled with tears , she just painfully asked him..
Reet- now you hate me this much.., not able to face her Maan averted his gaze from her..
Reet- Maan why you are.., but before she could continue a familiar voice grabbed her attention, lifting her eyes she looked up, the tears in her eyes blurred her vision she blinked to get clear view but when she got the clear image she was shocked to see Rajveer there..
Reet- you??
Rajveer- ask Maan.., Reet looked at Maan
Maan- when you planned about going to London I thought to go along with you to make sure you settle there properly but didn't tell you as I wanted it to be a surprise for you but now...so Rajveer will accompany u to London , here's the ticket.., he passed the tickets to Rajveer.., Reet was really touched by his care for her
Reet- you forgave me??
Maan- what for..you were never mine.., (after a long pause he continued)once Rajveer will come back I will introduce him to mom dad..
Reet- Maan..I.., she cried , Maan took a step forward to support her but before him Rajveer took her in his arms, Maan step backed, he hated to see her like this, turning his back towards them, he moved forward to leave them..when Reet held his hand stopping him.., controlling his emotions he looked at her
Reet- Maan..i'm sorry..I wish I could..
Maan- wish you could love me..you can't love me...
Reet- I..
Maan- sshh..I'm happy for you..
Reet- really??
Maan- hmm.., he lied while Reet hugged him mummering thank u...Reet was lost in her thoughts , when someone tapped on her shoulders..
Maan-kaha khogi ho??.reet shook her head in no..
Reet- nahi bas aise hi..
Maan- hmm..
None spoke anything for few minutes..
Maan-I hate u..
Shocked reet looked at him
Maan- aise kya dekh rahi ho..i hate u..jaana jaruri hai kya??,
Reet- you only preponed my departure!, to which he didn't answer so she continued
Reet- why are u denying now maan..
Maan- I'm scared..
Reet- kyu?? To which maan had no answers but still he wanted to stop her..,when Rajveer joined them
At the same moment they heard her flight announcement..she got up to leave..
Rajveer- chale??
Reet- hmm.(.looking at Maan ) bye...and took a step to leave but Maan held her hand when she turned to him he just hugged her tightly and said will miss u a lot..,hugging him back she said, "me too.. "separating herself from him and cupped his face..the tears which he held for so long finally came out..."stop behaving like this maan..at the time when we lost maa paa u were so strong u handled me and geet then why now u r behaving like this ha.."
Maan- u were there beside me reet always aur ab..
Reet- just one year maan..i will be back...just one year..controlling his emotions Maan uttered- hmm..i understand..
Too which reet smiled-take care of urself and my geet..
Maan- hmm
Again flight announcement was
there which made them realize that it was the time to get separated..Both looked in each other's eye for few seconds , then she started to move from there along with Rajveer, as the distance between him and them increased he felt to stop them but at the same time he knew he would not be able bear their presence in front of him, not now...he was weak to see them together...helpless by his heart he left..
Flashback ends
Stepping in his room he shut the door behind him trying the shut the haunting memories of his past, dropping down on floor he held himself tight , trying to forget it, till date he hate himself , he hate himself for being so weak , wish he was strong enough to face Reet, wish his heart was that strong to face the heart break, then she would have been alive now..
