Two factors that made me go for Sabaat: the role and the director, says Usman.
The promos of Sabaat are out and we cannot be more excited.
Besides featuring the stunning Sarah Khan and the beautiful Mawra Hocane, the promos also feature the dashing Usman Mukhtar, who can be seen playing Golf, looking his super self and wooing Sarah Khan’s character with sincerity.
Although it will be just his second play after Anaa, he has managed to make a lot of fans who would love to see him back in action.
That’s why Spotlight decided to meet the handsome hunk and ask him about the upcoming project, his other projects and above all, the mystery behind his character in Sabaat.
There were two factors that made me go for Sabaat, the first one was Shahzad Kashmiri with whom I previously did Anaa. He is such a great director when it comes to TV and I wanted to work with him again. When we were wrapping up Anaa, he mentioned the character of Dr. Haris to me and that got me interested.
Secondly, it’s a very different role of a doctor who takes the story forward and that’s what made me want to do it.
I feel every character should be different from the other as we play different personalities. I don’t believe in looking the same for every character and that’s why gained a little bit of weight for Dr. Haris.
Since my character is that of a therapist, I tried to conduct my own research by reading about it online. I also met some therapists, talked to them, took some pointers that I used when I was in front of the camera.
My main work is with Sarah Khan in this drama and I had a ball working with her. It was an amazing experience working with her because not only is she a wonderful actress but also an amazing human being.
I found her to be a thorough professional, who does her work and minds her own business. There was nothing negative about her when we were working, as she carries a lot of positive energy with her, wherever she goes.
I can’t tell you anything about the storyline but yeah, the audience should expect some surprises. My character here is nothing like Altamash and trust me, it is going to be a lot of fun.
Bench is basically a conversation between two people sitting a bench, hence the name. Right now it is being submitted to different film festivals around the world and has been sort of selected by four film festivals.
One of them is the International Short Awards festival in Los Angeles; the second one is independent Prisma Awards in Rome whereas the third one is the 3rd South Asian Film Festival in Kolkata (previously Calcutta). The fourth festival that has selected the film is our very own FILUMS in Lahore; there are other film festivals as well where we have submitted the film and are hoping for the best result.
Hopefully, after the festival run is over, we will go for a theatrical release in the major cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad
Sabaat will surely surprise the audience: Usman Mukhtar
I really hope this show is good. I'm looking forward to it. HUM has disappointed me with many shows in recent times but I hope they do well with this.
So, I'm back here for this one..only for Usman! ☺️
Mawra posted a pic ..and wrote that Sabaat will start from 29th March insha Allah. So next Sunday.😃
