The novel is good. It is written by Farhat Ishtiaq... By the looks of it they have added extra characters in the show. Do you want a summary?
I read this book more than a year ago so i might be a bit vague in some areas..
SPOILERS AHEAD (No major ones)
So here is the summary:
The leads are Wali and Farah and they are both cousins (paternal cousins). When her uncle (father's brother) dies, Farah's father in a very emotional state pressurises her wife and daughter to agree to Farah's marriage with Wali (Farah is 18 years old) since it was his brother's heart felt wish. Wali and Farah both get married and they barely no each other because their grandfather never accepted Farah's mother as his daughter in law and they never lived in the same house as their uncle and grandfather.
Th ruksati was supposed to be after a few years when Farah becomes a doctor... Years pass and Farah never accepts her relation with Wali and wants to end it and she only gets the chance after her father passes away. She is interested in her maternal cousin who also happens to be her best friend. She treats Wali pretty badly.. I feel for the poor guy. But he is adamant not to give her a divorce.
Farah is shown as a stubborn, strong headed girl who has made up her mind that she hates Wali even without knowing him. She has never been close to her paternal side of the family because of their severed relation with her father and mother. Sanam will be okay for the role i guess since she excels in the stubborn, strong headed kind of roles.
Wali is a calm, mature and a guy with an amazing personality. He knows just how to deal with his stubborn and arrogant wife. Honestly, I would have preferred Hamza Ali Abbasi as Wali.. But Mekaal is a good option. It could have been much worse.
Okay, so Wali strikes a deal with him that if she stays at his house with their grandfather (he is sick and wants to spend time with her granddaughter) for just 3 months he will divorce her and let her go free. And the story is about those three months and Farah's transformation and change of perception of the people around her..
