This song is from the mega-hit Lava Kusa (1963, my mother was just born!) which covers the entire Ramayan Uttararamacharitra.
Sita, Lord Ram's pregnant wife, gives birth to twin sons in Valmiki Ashram after Lord Ram sends her into exile. However, as they grow up and visit Ayodhya, they're sad because they cannot find King Rama's wife, Sita. Later, they discovered the truth about Queen Sita's abandonment and were furious at Ram's poor judgment. They were unaware that their mother was Sita, and Lord Ram was unaware that these children were his!
When he first began performing Ashwamedha Yajna, it was customary for the king to send his yajna aswa[horse] to each nation with the challenge, 'you either fight with my army or surrender to the horse to make peace with Aryavarth King Ram.' Every king, as usual, recognized the Ayodhya King's supremacy. While returning to the kingdom, the army stopped to rest near the Valmiki ashram, with Ram's brothers guarding the horse. When the kids realized this, they accepted the challenge with childish enthusiasm and tethered the horse to the ashram tree. Then they faced Satrughn, Bharath, and Lakshman, defeating them all with the help of Rishi Valmiki's sanctified arrows.
They are now preparing to fight with Ram because the entire army of brothers was destroyed by these children, necessitating the king's presence to defend his kingdom.
The first song is about unleashing the horse at the start of the Yajna, while the second song is about Lav and Kush, along with Rishi Balaks, enjoying their triumph against Ram's brothers---and dreaming of fighting Ram.
