Sharing a light song after a heavy one.

This song would probably be an epitome of hope, with the kind of dreams SRK’s character has smiley36smiley9

Sunrise doesn't last all morning

A cloudburst doesn't last all day

Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning

It's not always gonna be this grey

All things must pass

All things must pass away

Sunset doesn't last all evening

A mind can blow those clouds away

After all this, my love is up and must be leaving

It's not always gonna be this grey

All things must pass

All things must pass away

All things must pass

None of life's strings can last

So, I must be on my way

And face another day

Now the darkness only stays the night time

In the morning it will fade away

Daylight is good at arriving at the right time

It's not always gonna be this grey

All things must pass

All things must pass away

All things must pass

All things must pass away

Don't worry, be happy - Bobby McFerrin

This seems like a simplistic mantra but then it does bring a smile, and happiness (& lack of it) is usually the motivator for our actions and consequent emotions.

An account of a survivor who lost almost everything and came back from it. Cries of desperate help were dismissed and trivialised by media back in the 2010s. Now the same media is using them to talk about the mistreatment of kids in the entertainment industry. There are many who can relate to YOUR story, if you decide to speak about it fearlessly 💛

Don't stop - Fleetwood Mac

The darkness is usually momentary. If we can somehow find something to hold on to to tide us over that nadir, that extreme low point, things can get better.

It could be this song --

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV9JJmSCiI8

If you wake up and don't want to smile

If it takes just a little while

Open your eyes and look at the day

You'll see things in a different way

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow

Don't stop, it'll soon be here

It'll be better than before

Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone

Why not think about times to come

And not about the things that you've done

If your life was bad to you

Just think what tomorrow will do

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow

Don't stop, it'll soon be here

It'll be better than before

Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone

All I want is to see you smile

If it takes just a little while

I know you don't believe that it's true

I never meant any harm to you

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow

Don't stop, it'll soon be here

It'll be better than before

Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow

Don't stop, it'll soon be here

It'll be better than before

Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone

don't you look back

(Ooh) don't you look back

(Ooh) don't you look back

(Ooh) don't you look back

A bride rejected by her cousin-husband on their wedding night is forced to return to her parents in disgrace. A passerby's voice tells us that she will find the will to live for herself and for strangers.

Song: Kā Cintā Kariśī

Singer: Hridaynath Mangeshkar

Movie: Śikalelī Bāyako (1959)

Actors: Vasant Shinde, Usha Kiran, Indira Chitnis, Dada Salvi

Lyricist: P. Savlaram (Nivritti Ravaji Patil)

Music: Vasant Prabhu

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhydyA6Lmxk

Lyrics

का चिन्ता करिशी, प्राण्या?

का चिन्ता करिशी?

नयनी गङ्गा, हृदयी काशी

का चिन्ता करिशी?

Kā cintā kariśī, prāṇyā

Kā cintā kariśī?

Nayanī Gaṅgā, hṛdayī Kāśī

Kā cintā kariśī?

Why do you worry, breathing animal?

Why do you worry?

Gaṅgā in eyes, Kāśī in heart

Why do you worry?

दो पायावर रचतो सुन्दर

देहाचे जो मङ्गल देउळ

तोच चालवी अपुले पाउल

का मागे बघशी?

Do pāyāvara raçato sundara

Dehāçe zo maṅgala deuḷa

Toça çālavī apule pāula

Kā māge baghaśī?

Who designs on two feet, the body's

Beautiful and auspicious temple

Only he propels our footsteps

Why do you look back?

घर हे सुटता, नाते तुटता

जगही झाले जरी पारखे

सुखदुःखहि रे तुला सारखे

का डोळे पुसशी?

Ghara he suṭatā, nāte tuṭatā

Jagahī zhāle zarī pārakhe

Sukha-duḥkhahi re tulā sārakhe

Kā ḍoḷe pusaśī?

This home slipping, relation snapping

Even if the world too has become strangers

Comfort and pain are perpetual for you

Why do you wipe your eyes?

चन्द्र हासरा गोड मुखाचा

रसाळ वाणी अमृताची

प्रेमळ दृष्टी तुझ्या मनाची

देव तुझ्यापाशी

Candra hāsarā goḍa mukhāçā

Rasāḷa vāṇī amṛtācī

Premaḷa dṛṣṭī tujhyā manācī

Deva tujhyāpāśī

The smiling Moon of sweet face

The juicy words of immortality

The loving gaze of your mind

God is with you

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), or body dysmorphia, is a mental health condition where a person spends a lot of time obsessing about flaws in their appearance. It can further manifest into eating and other disorders due to the person trying to 'fix' it. Other people may not be able to see the things one perceives as flaws, but as a result, people have psychological distress that interrupts everyday life. It is also a known reason for teenage suicides. Everyone is beautiful in their own ways, we should help them embrace it 🤎

Rabindranath Tagore initially wrote "Ekla Chalo Re" in 1905 in the Bengali language. Later, he translated it into English. The title translates roughly as "If they do not answer your call, walk alone." The song is regarded as an anthem for nonviolent resistance and self-reliance, and it is frequently associated with Mahatma Gandhi's non-cooperation campaign during the Indian independence struggle.

"Ekla Chalo re" song with Bengali Lyrics and English Translation, along with some quotes from Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

Song: Hain sabse madhur woh geet

Film: Patita (1953)

Music: Shankar-Jaikishen

Lyrics: Shailendra

Singer: Talat Mehmood

This song's opening verse is inspired by Shelley's poem 'Ode to a Skylark' whose lines

Our sincerest laughter

With some pain is fraught;

Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought

Shailendra almost literally translated as:

Hai sabse madhur woh geet jinhe hum dard ke sur mein gaate hain

Jab hadh se guzar jaati hai khushi, aansoo bhi chalakte aate hain.

To me the words that leap out and spell hope in this song are:

Jab gham ka andhera ghir aaye

samjho ke savera door nahi

when the darkness (of sorrow) surrounds you the most, know that the light (morning) isn't too far away.

Beautiful song and the picturization with Dev Anand caressing Usha Kiran's hair as she lays her head on his lap and weeps, is so gently reassuring.
