I really feel for Amla!

For Amla Abeer's love understandably feels like an imposition right now. She cannot disassociate him from the traumatic event that changed her life. And unfortunately, she sees Abeer's return as confirmation that he isn't a man of his word. Currently all expectations feel like a burden for Amla and all kindness an act of putting her under emotional debt. What Amla needs right now is a sense that she is the one in control of her life and that no one else can walk in and tear it down again </3

I do understand Abeer's state too though.

Abeer really, truly wants to do whatever he can to help Amla rebuild her life. That letter he penned to Amla conveyed his head space quite beautifully. He knows absolutely nothing can undo the damage and derailment caused to Amla but he wants to reassure her that she can move past this and be happy and at peace again. It's ironic that the one thing she wants from him - him leaving her, is just the thing he cannot give to her. He tried to but when he stopped to take an objective pov he realised that though it's not looming but there's a very real threat to Amla from the Malliks and he cannot afford to not be there to shield her from it when the time comes.

There are so few serials out there that attempt understated, slow burn romance. KQHAK of necessity, because of its context, is well suited to exactly that. I really don't find the instant noodles type of pyaar that other serials cook all that engaging. So this show has been a really good find! Looking forward to Amla and Abeer's journey towards understanding and acceptance of each other.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

I have to admit that I had been purposefully avoiding KQHAK in the beginning. I knew it had some well-seasoned names attached (Bhairavi, Purnendu, Gajra) in terms of the story adaptation but having read the premise of the original show I didn't know if I could really handle it. Especially Amla's forced marriage to someone she perceived as her rapist. I just was not up for that.

However I kept hearing good things about the show. And eventually gave it a proper go on the episode where Abeer told her he wasn't involved like she thinks. I really appreciate how the narrative has clearly made Amla take a firm stand on her non-acceptance of the situation she feels she's been placed in and is suffocating under. It does not brush her POV under the carpet - it's front and centre and not going away anytime soon. And I think that's just how it should be.

Yes I too feel for amla

Amla was right that abeer did not comply to his promise

Actually amla was warming to him but him suddenly coming back made her feel so co trolled

She is a person who was abused very badly the main thing she needs is freedom

Being away for a while I get amla and dev would have come to an understanding

Suddenly a beer coming back and saying he loves her is something she can't handle right now

And I feel getting them married was the one thing amla can't accept

From abeer's point of view he got scared seeing a dream that dev and Evan anwould harm her

But dev would shout but do you think he will harm her no

And I think amla is strong enough to fight Evan

Ed
Ap Evan and others will never come near fearing amla saying anything to police
