I'm a new viewer to this show but I'm so glad to have discovered it.
I'm actually watching the initial episodes and the newer ones at the same time so that I can catch up but so far the story has me hooked. The beginning episodes have been beautifully filmed. Dharamshala is breathtaking. Pankhuri is a wonderful actress and Rajveer and the rest of the supporting cast are all perfect for their roles.
As I am still navigating myself through the initial episodes there are a few gaps for me in the story but hopefully I will be able to fill those in soon.
Amla's story is heartbreaking. She had her whole life ahead of her as she dreamt of marrying Dev and living the perfect married life. From the beginning, Dev has been shown to be hot-headed though he was madly in love with Amla. He was so completely possessive of her that couldn't bear the thought of anyone else even looking at her let alone talking to her.
Raghu bhaiiya is pure hearted and totally innocent but Mando is heartless and conniving. Mannu is a cutie and Karuna is so understanding and supportive.
And then there's Abeer. A man who thought he had done the despicable act of gang-raping a girl and then finding out later on that he had done nothing wrong. A man who is trying his utmost to right the wrong that he thought that he had done to Amla, knowing all the time that she hated him. Even though he tried to tell her he was innocent, she didn't believe him and you can't blame her as the last thing she saw before passing out was Abeer's face.
But what is wonderful about Abeer is that even though he knows how much Amla detests him, that has not stopped him from looking after her and making sure she is protected by him. Whether she appreciates what he does or not, he does everything for her without expecting anything back. Unconditional support and devotion on his part for a woman who he is slowly beginning to fall in love with.
And Amla too has slowly begun to see the caring side of Abeer. When he gave her the divorce papers yesterday she couldn't understand why a tear fell from her eye. But then she thought, this is was what she always wanted...for Abeer to go far away from her so she would never have to look at his face again. And she was happy. Or was she?
As Amla lay down on her bed, she began to think of her moments with Abeer. How she blamed him yet he still took care of her and her family with no expectation in return, making sure no harm came to them. And the smile slowly faded from her face replaced by a restlessness, confusing her. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, Abeer had somehow touched her heart and it unnerved her.
I really liked the last scene where Karuna hesitatingly asked Amla if Abeer could spend his last meal with them. It will be interesting to see what her answer will be tomorrow.
