Given Aaliyah has lived alone abroad, I guess she would have more freedom than most other girls around.
I think Abhi trusts Aaliyah enough to allow her he freedom she seeks. Daadi, I don't know- she might not like Aaliyah going around much. She is kind of not appreciative of her anyway..

yeah - abhi has clearly always been daadi's favourite! and aaliya just accepts it. no resentment there.

i don't think it will ever suit the cv's purposes to have her redeemed. she's in such a good position to be a villain - abhi's trusted sister. and if abhi ever stops trusting her, her position is still good - the vengeful rejected sister.

If Aaliya were a productive human being instead of stock villain, what would she do? What did she study in Australia? Can we see her in any kind of job? Would she maybe go back to school for some other degree?

Like Aaliya on the show spends 24/7 a) being vengeful b) conducting saazishes and c) being vain. She's your basic wicked socialite. I guess as rockstar Abhi's sister, she doesn't have to do anything? At this point in her life, she's done her education so she can hang out and live off her brother's money and wait to get married?

I want to give Aaliya a job or some other productive occupation in this redemption fic I am trying to write, but it's hard...all I see her doing is conducting saazishes and spending Abhi's money 😛

I think she completed MBA if I am not mistaken. Even then, I am not so sure but my gut says she did business degree. I see her as a fashion designer, though. The cold-hearted bitch type with extremely good taste in high fashion.

anyway i was also thinking that i could see her working in fashion. we don't have much evidence of her being creative but as you said, she does give off that stereotypical fashionista vibe.

i mean yes aaliya is an adult, and she's very independent. but she's still a young woman living at home. and usually that means negotiating restrictions/expectations...your family will want to know where you are or you're with in general terms, or else they will worry. yes/no?

After a few times, I'm pretty sure Daadi would start I get worried about her frequent outings especially of she hasn't been doing that before

U can show that Aaliya totally doesn't want to b someone's intern, but she has to if she wants to even become something in the fashion industry. No one will accept a person who has no prior experience or something like that which forces her to become an intern

thanks trish, i think you're right. daadi would have some awareness of her activities and would notice any odd patterns.


i just realized, aaliya is creative - with her lies and quick thinking and manipulations. not so much in an artistic way, which i would expect of a designer, you know?

i'm contemplating to what extent i can excuse/explain aaliya's behaviour due to heartbreak/warped expectations etc. i mean obviously at some point she crosses the line from believably human to flat out villain - and maybe this keeping abhi in jail is the line - but up to that point, there can be possible ways to contextualize her manipulations that makes her more than just a villain. dunno if that makes sense - headachy all day, not sure how my words are coming out :S

yeahh!! and it would be a good way to make her confront her own ego. she would ask herself, "aaliya mehra, what's more important - the self-importance of being rockstar abhi's sister and therefore beholden to no one, OR my actual dreams and ambitions for what i want to do with my life...hmmm"

it would be an important growth step for her 😛
