Satyajeet Sharma, popularly known as Vasant in Balika Vadhu, will be seen as a business tycoon, D.K Punj in Kitani Mohabbat Hai. He tells us his reasons for taking on this role.
"The reason for doing the show is that I was shooting for only 15 days a month. So I had time and nothing to do for next 15 days. I just wanted to be employed, as I cannot sit without any work. It also helps to work for production houses like Balaji," the actor informs.
Satyajeet, who has worked with Balaji previously, was more than happy to take up the offer. "Their creative head gave me a call and offered me this role. I worked with them earlier, on two shows; Krimson Skies did not come on air but I shot for it for a few days. I also did the thriller show with Mita Vasisth for DD. They have also seen my performance in Balika Vadhu," he adds.
"They narrated me the role and it sounded exciting. I have never played any flamboyant character in my career. It is quite different than that of Vasant's. As an actor I always look for a spectrum in the character," says Satyajeet.
Praising both production houses he says," Balaji has been very nice to me. They never created any problem with my schedules. In fact both production houses are managing well. I was quite apprehensive about the co-stars but I have gelled with them very well."
Lastly about Ekta he says, "My first interaction with her was in a press conference. She was polite and she is a very warm person. She welcomed me and we had a good time at her place."
Satyajeet, originally from Delhi, has been doing lots of shows after coming to Mumbai. He also wants to go back to his first love - theatre.
