Okay guys this my first ever writing a peice of story, whatever you call it. At first this was Premeer thing, but soon it turned into a Meet thing, but no worries, if you like it all I will be writing Premeer one too 😉 Please do comment on your thought, it was be very supportive and helpful, eh? 😳
State fairs were never my sort of thing, I preferred to stay in my loft or my room and cuddle with a good book in hand, and a light snack and caffeine.
It's hard to believe that once I hated reading for assignments let alone the thought of reading for 'fun' but I guess somewhere along the road books just grew on me.
You knows those really gushy, the head-over-heals, I can't live without you kind of romantic fictions? Those are my favorite, and I can't help but dream and fantasize meeting my 'soul mate' like they do in the books, I know it was unrealistic and irrational, no guy is that way, but it's a habit to daydream myself in the position of the female lead.
Anyways, this time around the year I had no choice--peer pressure. This year I made friends with what people consider the "in-crowds" you know those smart kids who are popular at the same time? Yeah, some of those people. After much begging or so I caved and agreed to go with them.
So here I am, ready in some dark skinny jeans and a white tunic, with silver flats. It was not something I would have worn by choice, again I prefer the comfortable style--not to say it wasn't comfortable, but it was more girly and showed of my figure, which I don't do very often. I also had a big gucci handbag filled with all kind of girly things that my sister loaned to me, and looking down at it I noticed something flashing in there--my phone.
"Oh wow Meher, you look great" Aditti turned, grinning at me.
"You got that right, man you look hot" Ronak winked.
Krishna playfully hit him at the same time I blushed.
"Sorry Meher, I know you hate compliments, but you really do look adorable"
It was my turn to response and my heart was pounding "Thanks…" it was all I could say, I felt so out my place, this was not me.
Like always Jai came to my rescue, "Okay guys what rides you want to hit first?"
I looked at him through the front mirror and smiled slightly, which he nodded as indicating you're welcome to my silent thank you.
"I don't know about you, but I'm hungry"
"You're always hungry Ronak! It's a wonder you're skinny as you are" Krishna laughed.
"And I for one don't want to be around you when you're full and puke" Aditti laughed.
And the rest of the conversation flew by as I was occasionally lost in my thoughts, again feeling like an oddball. I laughed here and there at some jokes, but was mostly silent.
After about 25 minutes got out of the car and walked in to the entrance at the fair where we bought the unlimited rides band. By now we had decided it was light-emphasize on light-snack first and then hit the rides.
We all grabbed corn on the cobs debated which ride to hit first, and by now I was feeling more normal. When it came to deciding it is almost rare that the decision is unanimous and it felt familiar which calmed me down.
"Meher you agree with me right?"
"Meher don't you think we should do all the usual ones first that way people will leave by the time we get to the best ones"
"No, because what if we run out of time before we get there"
"You're not listening--"
Just then Jai whistled "Okay guys, let's take a vote, best ones first or save them for last?"
"First" Ronak said, "Last" Krishna voted.
"Ummm, last because the lines are really long right now" Aditti pointed out.
"And you Meher?" Jai asked
"How about neither? We don't go to them now because of the lines, but I don't keep putting them off and never riding them, so how about we take turns depending on the lines?"
"Hmmm, that could work, yeah okay I like Meher's idea, I vote that one, what do you guys think? Two for switching and two for last. Krishna?"
"But--fine, I like Meher's"
Jai smiled "Okay Meher's plan it is"
And for some reason I couldn't help but laugh, it just felt right, and everyone soon joined in, even Ronak.
