Hopefully Sony will promote the upcoming wedding twist and some more thrills are in our hope

Sony is only promoting Ek Deewaana Tha and Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, but not Haasil.

For a while lets keep aside that Sonytv as a channel needs to revamp its marketing and promotion strategies for its daily fiction soaps, lets look at what Haasil team has been doing.


It takes atleast 4-6 weeks for a daily show to develop some bond with viewers, to emotionally connect them with main characters or to give them a fair idea of concept making them hook up to watch it daily. Haasil already crossed 6 weeks.😊


If Haasil makers weren't able to retain till now all those Indian viewers who watched this show on SonyTV in its first two weeks of launch with some curiosity and expectations, then how are they going to attract new viewers to watch their show from now on, apart from sustaining current viewers? 😕


Some one interested can check Spotboye article. They gave graphical analysis of how much an overhyped Haasil has been losing its viewership from its launch week till now.😳 Low quotients of thrill, emotional connect, performances, story telling and excitement could be reasons vis a vis mismatched expectations.

But if u look at other shows then their TRPs decreased after the first week itself
Ek deewana's TRP is 0.5 at a slot where there is hardly any competition...their is no horror element..one of the 2 leads didn't get any dialogues and it has turned into a typical daily soap and yet it's promoted heavily

Same is the case Rishta likhenge it's TRP is now 0.6 despite being a typical show which is meant for ladies...still it's promoted and has got maha epi as well

At least Haasil is fast paced

It needs more promotion , promos , maha epis etc. Which it is not getting...it's TRP is 0.4 when it's competing against top shows like Kundali Bhagya which is number 1 show and Yeh Rishta again a TRP Topper

Also the promos telecasted by Sony are rare and on top of that sort of not exciting enough...Gaurav was murdered yesterday...this should have been made into a proper promo
Ranvir will propoe Aanchal again this should have been a proper promo

Sony has given very underwhelming promos of Haasil...they need to highlight the key incidents which are happening rather than showing boring promos

Firstly Sony has more wider outreach in urban regions than in rural India compared to other hindi GECs. I don't watch EDT but RLHN I do catch up once in a while..

So before launch itself based on promos I guessed above two shows may not fair well for Sony. But expected better reception to Haasil provided makers retain that thrill element every week (similar to how Ek Hasina Thi delivered along with good twists and mystery layers of some key characters).


RLHN has good outdoor locations, grandeur in budget spend and royal look. It has more rural flavor and could have connected well had they made it into a periodic show setup in 1940-50's time frame. How can standard Sony urban audience digest an outdated kingdom, sword swearing, his threat from royal family in modern times which its irrelevant/ at one end they use tabs, smart phones, laptops etc. in the show another end show kings?? 😕 But frankly story didn't yet develop in right direction as it needs to be. Male lead is a young, carefree chirpy 21 years guy but the actor who plays it has two standard expressions and looks off sync or lost in most scenes, his on screen chemistry with his peheridar is also low. Now female lead has tough expressions but her styling and usage doesn't make her look like a 30 year unmarried lady older than the male lead. Added to that now they are faking love and engagement in initial episodes itself which may turn off audience. (same was the problem with Haasil too)



Coming to EDT, promoting and telecasting an horror show at 10pm slot that too as a daily soap instead of a weekend show gave away feelers that they didn't properly analyze Indian TV audience preferences and psyche. Added to that they took a known TV personality as male lead, a tall good looking guy with good screen presence and reasonable female fan following but made him into a full time ghost right from first episode. How many youngsters and men would prefer to sit and watch a ghost love story on TV at 10pm slot claimed as a horror story and how many ladies would digest seeing Namik as a ghost?? 😕

Yes exactly
Haasil has better potential or at least equal to both these shows

But these two shows are heavily promoted...their promos are on air all the time...they are getting maha episodes while Haasil is not even getting a decent promo

Whatever Haasil promos that came out after its launch week, half of them frankly were dreams or rather misleading.


Channel, producer, cast & crew promoted excessively that 22nd Nov episode of Kabir's video call with Ranvir introducing Aanchal as his to be wife, they said its a not to be missed best romantic episode..😳 but real episode was not as special to watch. Added, it lost charm as viewers knew its fake and it also looked superficial watching an intelligent, grounded and smart Aanchal accept a brat and OTT Kabir's proposal so easily.


Anyhow conceptualization of promo content also rests with show makers while timely release of promos and press statements at right time whether online / offline may be purely with channel.

I think both channel and producer decide the promo content and frankly speaking promos have been sparse and not interesting
Sony needs to start promoting it...give promos...have maha epis etc. To boost TRPs
