Technically speaking, I think she was right in her own rights. As far as her parents are concerned, I don't know what to say. I'm that girl whose brought up by a bunch of nannies, I hardly ever interacted with my parents as a kid, and now I do, yes alot. So I have no clue on how to judge her parents. But I am sure of one thing - my parents would have stood by my side, cause no matter how busy they are or the ignorance I suffered as a kid, no matter what I did my parents did support me. They stood by my side - through thick and thin.
Wasn't Ram Bachan portrayed to be this understanding father who understood that the in-laws were money hungry and they're demands would increase until it sucked them dry. YES, HE WAS. Isn't Saraswati a typical village mother who loves her kids but society to her matters more, YES SHE IS! Though RB is justified at some point of time, and Saraswati to me is too much of a drama queen - yes I do understand the situation. I do. But it's her friggin daughters marriage that just got voided.
Laajo's is right in her own rights cause she saved her family literally, as she said quote unquote the dowry demands were never ending. Yes, and they would suck her family dry. Oh, darn it, some years from now everyones gonna forget the incident and her sisters will be happily married to some village dumbf**ks.
Laajo literally sacrificed herself. She could have marriage that wierd mustache dude and started popping out tots.. Not caring about how her family managed providing to the demands, she could have gone ahead and succumbed to whatever the society wanted.
The village honor, psst puhlease.. Yeah, as Dadaji said such cases are so familiar, how can Laajo ruin their village honor by getting jilted at the altar. If that was the case then yeah, their comment lies invalid coz to lose honor there has to be honor left there to lose, and if one bride getting jilted at the altar causes the loss of that pride. Think about it - where is that pride? Cause Laajo is certainly not the first one.
