I understand the viewers' frustration on seeing her changed nature but what's more baffling to me is how can people call a homemaker Aya/Unpaid Nanny? By that logic, most of our mothers would fall under that category.
Financial stability is a must but having a job alone doesn't make someone independent. I have seen educated, highly paid women cowering before their abusive in-laws while uneducated, homemakers have a backbone of steel and control their households with a nerve of iron.
Every person has a breaking point. When SaiRat died, Savi had her family. When the Chavans died, Ishan made sure she didn't fall apart. And then he was murdered right before her eyes, that too on their wedding day. I seriously don't understand how can anyone see a fault in her if she has given up on her dreams. Any normal person would lose their will to live after that. At least she tried to fill that void with kids.
She truly loves Sai and wants to protect her at any cost, what's wrong with that?
Coming to Rajat, I didn't like him that much earlier, but he's much more civil than the OG and that's why when he started to soften towards Savi, it became easier to root for them as a rude ML is miles ahead IMHO than an indecisive person who can't decide who he truly wants.
But like you said, Savi is the protagonist. They are focusing too much on Rajat and it's becoming annoying.
Since I watched YHM a long time ago, I can't remember if Raman ever had such imagination or not. But I'm pretty sure he didn't. It seems like Ganja makers' idea. I sincerely hope they make some alterations in Savi's handling of the situation because Ashka deserves much worse for everything she has done so far and continues to do so...
