Ayesha has shown tremendous growth in the character of Sai.. Initially seeing the promos, I did not like her an believed the other lead would take away all the accolades, if at all the show gets the fame.. And I had serious issues with her screen presence and dialogues in the beginning of the show. I would always think why would they pair her against a veteran like Neil. But then she proved me wrong and HOWπŸ‘

The first time I noticed her and appreciated her was during Sai's Aaba's death..Man she was fabulous in those emotional scenes . She could make me feel Sai's pain.. I have lost my father recently and I would cry seeing those scenes like crazy.. It was difficult to see them and not cry.. She stood with Neil in every single scene.. Her cries, her breakdown..everything..everything was so so heart wrenching..

Ofcourse she has been backed up by a good character, but she is not a TRP Bahu..Thats why she was not hailed by the channel initially.. There are scenes of Sai, where I would think oh God she is going over board and creating a scene, but I had no issues of her portrayal..

You have to see that scene of hers, where when in Virat's room for the first time she sits on his knees with her AAba's frame in her hands..on her heart, "O Re chiddaiya" playing and looks at the whole room with trepidation.. with anxiety, with cluelessness.. So much in those few seconds...Any girl who has her parents alive, feels all these feelings when she first enters her husband's room.. And here was a girl who had lost her only family, her AAba , treated badly at the entrance of her Sasural and was in an alien room..with nothing to look forwards to.. Dare you not cry in that scene..

Then again I have had issues with her dialogue delivery, but have also loved it when she stands for something.. There is certain degree of strength and weightage in the tone she delivers it with..Specially when she talks about her Aaba, or talks about women In Shivani-AMey issue..

She does get that Delhi accent when she calls Kiya as Kara, a lot of actors do that.. or she says Virat Sir aap mujhe ye de do(mostly used in delhi), and sometimes goes with Aap mujhe de dijiye(the basic language is this one..) Sometimes calls Chavhan as Chauhan...

She has improved leaps and bounds when it comes to her dialogue delivery..Her confrontational scenes with Neil has been always my favourite.. Be it the episode after Amey's arrest or the episode after Ladakh cancellations.. Those scenes were emotionally taxing.. Both had to show , so much hurt, angst, pain, craving for each others love , attention and she stood there equally with Neil.. Ofcourse she has also learnt a lot from Neil, like she keeps saying, but then its the individual effort and will to learn and excel is what matters..

Neil has outplayed her in many scenes..and rightly so.. But she has as well..One scene where I believed she outplayed him was during the GC confrontation, where she goes back to the room and breaks down..Man that again was heart wrenching.. But then I think of it, Sai sitting in that vidai Saree, in alien room, looking all scared, holding her Aaba's frame and crying, was her best till date.. It felt like that girl needed a hug of assurance for what all she had gone through..and credit is for Ayesha to take for bringing in that innocence and vulnerability in 'the Sai' who we have seen to be very strong always..

Well today's episode was actually a light hearted one and I always enjoy Sai's and Bhavani's banters when they are not interrupted by her stooges and Patralekha .. They share a natural chemistry.. Kishori mam and Ayesha take a lot of credit for keeping the show in top 5 even during Neil's absence for almost two weeks.. I wish to see her more.. The scene looks natural and fun..

I also love the chemistry that Karishma and Sonali share.. Its fun.. to watch..They both are again good actors.. It was good to see them having more dialogues than weakest link of the show..

Sai is loveable by the TRP aunties , because of Ayesha as well.. SHe has brought life in her.. They chose her just a week before getting the show on floor, while the other two were already selected..What a surprise package she has been..

PS: Ignore the mistakes, I am in a hurry, work calls..

I always say this..I started watching Ghum because I liked Neil especially in the GC episodes, and I was intrigued by the character Sai. Her first scene with Jagtap itself I liked...the loser scene.

Ayesha definitely was a novice. That was clear. Now we know that she joined work a week before they started shooting!! She must not have had time to prepare at all.

I too loved her scenes when her Aabha died. And her nervousness when she entered the Chawan family. So many scenes she's been brilliant.

She's getting better each day. Actually she speaks Hindi so fluently, she can easily improve much more. But I think she tends to lapse into north indian hindi like today with 'haan nahi toπŸ˜†'.

Now I feel her rawness actually gives her a uniqueness as Sai. I often feel like telling her that take care of her dialogues..but not sure how she will take it. Especially with this PH being so touchy with fans. She needs to get street smart about her styling on the show too.

Ayesha's main strength are her expressions. She follows the scene very well and her expressions are always appropriate.

With Neil her scenes are fantastic, I think he encourages her a lot.

She's getting more confident now..even off screen. Her body language has changed.

Hope people in the industry notice her, and she gets great work after Ghum.

I think early on Sai was still figuring out her bearings.

But now all the goof ups that happen in terms of dialogue and styling are things that the director and crew need to take care of. Its not the actors fault.

I think ayesha makes no fuss about her makeup/look and accepts everything they give her. But i hope that the feedback of audience about the blingy clothes, the horrible mangalsutra instead of the actual shaadi waala mangalsutra which is nice and simple, etc is seen not only by Ayesha but by the crew who handle these things. I dunno if Ayesha can refuse a certain look/makeup unless she is utterly uncomfortable in it. I dont think she can refuse to wear a chain they give her or to wear blingy sack like salwar unlesd it didnt fit her at all or was maybe torn! πŸ˜‚

In terms of dialogues I'm not sure how much actors are allowed to improvise or change dialogues. But i do want them to remember that this is a Maharashtrian household so any slang used should fit in with someone from nagpur. Cant be delhi slang.

For example in todays scene when she says "haan nahi toh" - its too north indian. A girl from GC is unlikely to use that expression. If Ayesha added that to the dialogue herself, then it is the director and crews responsibility to pay attention to that n fix it. But in terms of emotions she nails it so i can look past it. But she will polish herself in future- I'm confident of it.

given that most crew members themselves may be north indian or based in mumbai where the hindi spoken is a mix of many different places- they may have included north indian slang into dialogue themselves without realizing. I wonder if there are enough authentic Maharashtrians in crew to actually point out these minute details to enrich the show.

Asmi how beautifully have you summarised it all giving reference to particular scenes. I abs loved her breakdowns especially after Aabhs death, recently in GC and the one soon after moving to CN. She looks so graceful even while crying. Plus she is so humble offscreen too. Her interviews shows that. She always credits the writers for Sai. Yes sh is even matching and outplaying Neil in some scenes too. wrt to TRP audience yes absolutely. They see Sai for who she is and love Ayesha. My mother is a big fan of hers and Sai too. She doesn't care about the couple unlike me lol.

Ayesha is what I call perfect casting

I think actors can refuse to wear certain clothes or jewellery when they have a name for themselves..

She definitely breathes life into Sai. She's great in the light-hearted banter scenes. Pretty good in the romantic scenes too. Angry young woman toh she does very well 'cos she is doing that day in day out. And she has improved tremendously. There's still scope for improvement in the emotional scenes I think. Some of the high voltage drama scenes with Virat are really memorable- like the scene at night after the trip was canceled where she asks him some tough questions. I really enjoyed that one.

But yeah, downturned mouth is her go-to expression for sadness. She has a mobile face with expressive eyes. I wish she'd use them to better effect. But like any other professional, she's learning on the job. I'll give her credit for coming along very well. Her growth is obvious to see.

My Mom enjoys Sai and BK scenes a lot.. She was so good in that lets decide what to prepare for lunch today episode.. where she outsmarted everyone and succeeded in making Pakhi do the grinding...Thats where Sai is also different, she does not let people go away with the atrocities done on her..like mahan leads and also is soft hearted, which was visible how she tried to stop Pakhi from going with it..while Pakhi and others were having fun at her trouble..

I forgot to add. I think she watches the episodes too. Long time back in one of her interviews, she mentioned that her favourite scene was the Sinhagad wall scene. She loves to watch it. That's the mark of a person who is focussed on improving.

She was awesome today.

I like her scenes with Bhavani the most...be it fighting, insulting or taunting scenes. Even if only two of them are present in a scene... it's enough. Ok..maybe they can add Karishma, my other fav, in the scene just for her expressions πŸ˜†

Yes, she is good. I like those cute pouts and expression she gives. She has improved a lot and is continuing to learn. She just need to improve her voice abit I feel in emo scenes. It still comes out as shrill at times.
