Anyone anywhere can b affected by Terrorism so i can think of it as a crime against world or humanity.
I think in handling a terrorist, Law should be involved properly. So i say yes.
Courts and law is the first step b4 any sort of imprisonment, torture or punishment in general case (im talking abt normal law practises for citizens). First we do have to prove that the person is a terrorist or not. If this is not done, then i fear that some of innocent people who don't have any connections with any terror organization and r normal innocent citizens of any country ,may b caught and misunderstood as a terrorist, may b tortured and may be even shot dead. I have heard abt some case that a young boy was suspected as a terrorist and shot dead at the spot in UK i believe. Afterwards it was discovered that he was a normal person, a respectable and innocent citizen of some other country. Now on shooting a SUSPECTED terrorist should only b done when there is some danger that he may injure/hurt/kill someone. And shooting to death on the spot is something i can't comment on becoz i don't know the law abt it.
I think that sending the terrorist to his native country for any imprisonment and punishment
UNDER the supervision of INTERNATIONAL COURT/LAW may provide a better solution towards the problem. Also in his native country it should be ensured that the "Human rights laws" are
NOT surpassed in torturing that particular person for any intelligence reasons.
In short i wish to have a
complete SUPERVISION/MONITORING of human rights organizations AND international laws for terrorists for handling such cases to minimise ANY chance of mistreatment and unjust to anyone. One of my fears too r completely expressed in the article. Extract from the article:
" Periodic visits, however, cannot protect an isolated detainee. Indeed, they are cruel. Imagine the dilemma of such a torture victim receiving a monitor. Does the victim pretend he was never mistreated, denying the shattering experience of torture? Or does he report his mistreatment, knowing the account will be traced back to him and, in retaliation, he might be returned to the torture chamber? No detainee should have to face that dreadful choice. "
