Hi Dance Fanatics,

I have seen quite a few dancetastic auditions, but today one performance just left me speechless and with goosebumps. Mesmerised by his souplesse and grace, I kept staring at the TV screen, wishing he would be requested to perform once more. And then some more. But helas, I was left hungry, craving for seconds and thirds.

Even his name could refer to food, so yes pun intended Wink but I shall remain serious since this is what he deserves.

A dancer of class, strength and discipline. Just like a feather, weightless, dancing on the tunes and whistles of the wind, he made me forget how much power, precision and practice it really takes to achieve such brilliance.

Most definitely, Chow has got the PLUS factor!
Absolute mind blowing talents this season. Truly a level up.
I have my favorites already, and Chow is one of them. I am a fan for sure and won't be surprised if he ends up winning this season.

Can someone perhaps post his audition video clip? I couldn't find it.

Rishu

He gave audition in DID and he was in Punit's team but we know DID was a versatile show, so he got eliminated. But now he is back with a bang and he has improved a lot. He can become the finalist of the show

It was in DID4 and he was selected but couldnt make it to top10. He was not in Punit team, he was in Feroz team.

@TM: If you like him, check out his DID videos on YT and stalk his facebook/insta, lots of dance videos

I agree, he is fab

Hi Rishu,

I am Twinkle from Assam, from the same state of Chow.Nice to know that you like his performance and talent and is your one if the favourite.

Though i personally don't know him but can add some information about him to you. Like you think, 'Chow' is not a recipe but it is the Ahom community's(of Assam) way to write Mr. /Miss(Sri/Srimati) before someone's name in case of gents. May be he popularise it to have an uniqueness to his name and personality or he love to write it like that way.

Anyway he is my favourite too.
See you again in future..

Hi Twinkle,
Thank you very much for responding and giving me extra information about the name or reference of Chow. Feel free to post more information about him (or any of the others). You know I was confused about his name. You see, I went searching on the internet for his audition clip and I found an interview of his and dance in another show. I did not know he was already so well-known.

So his name is most likely El Lan? Is there only one word for both Mr, Mrs, Ms? Or female is different? Perhaps you are right, Chow does sounds cool or is easier for others to remember or pronounce. Or like Dharmesh had tag of Dharmesh Sir when he went for audition in DID Chow did the same? But thanks to you I know a bit more about this mysterious magical dancer.

He comes across as a very sensitive beautiful person who can move around the stage with grace and excellence. I just hope he can compete well and long enough in his style against the others. Because they are very good as well, and that too om slow and fast tracks.

I hope to see more of your postings. At the moment there is not much action on this forum but that will hopefully change as the show progresses.

Oh and by the way, I hope I did not offend you or anyone else with chow reference as a dish or recipe. It was more a joke. I love food so much too 😊 perhaps you also know the Asian Chinese chow-fan or chow-minh? This is fried rice or fried noodles. Chow time is food time.

I am getting a bit hungry now... It is almost lunchtime here (The Netherlands) 😉

Hey Rishu,
Like Chow for male, there is Nang for females. As being an Ahom myself like Chow(the contestant), me too can write Nang before Twinkle if i want to write my name.Rest I will reply to you when i will get enough time. Now am little busy to reply you satisfactorily. For Now, i just wanna say you did not offend me by any means as you had no clue what Chow means to us unless i tell you. So be free and happy.. See you soon.

With love,
Twinkle ❤️

Rishu,

First if all,you are most welcome as i loved your post regarding Chow as it was the appreciation post of an ardent admirer for a favourite contestant. Don't worry about my postings here as i love watching dance shows and Dance+ is my favourite. You are bound to confuse about his name as it sounds quite unique. Ya his actual name is Chow En Lai Phukan. Chow means Sri/Mr. , En Lai is his name (Tai Name; An Ahom community name which must have a meaning itself) and Phukan is his Surname. He was a contestant if Dance India Dance 4 in master Firoz team and got eliminated before voting rounds started. Grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty Shoten his name to Chow as his name was difficult to pronounciate. Mithun Da have a habit to give a popular name to contestants which is not their actual names to popularize them and some of the contestants continue their journey with that famous name given by Mithun Da.Biggest example here Dance India Dance season 1 winner 'Salman' whose actual name was Yusuf Khan,Salman was his nick name. It was Mithun Da who chooses Salman over Yusuf and make him popular and win the trophy by that name.Yusuf continue his journey as Salman instead of his real name. May be Chow is doing the same.

Chow was a good dancer at DID time too but that time he was inexperienced and a bit childish to realize the seriousness of the contest.(at that time his hair was black too 😉😆)But Now, he is grown up, mature enough for me to not even identify him for a second when i saw him auditioning. He looks more prepared Now. Let's see how long will he go in this journey.

I knew you were joking while saying Chow sounds like a dish, but i felt i should tell you what i know because you sounds really a good and genuine admirer if him. So in no way i got offense by it. And you know what i love Chowmein. My favourite.

Twinkle ❤️
