Nice bowling figures.
Arshdeep Singh: I was under a bit of pressure because I never took any wicket in ODIs before. Happy to get a fifth. The wicket had purchase early on and the plan was to get some LBWs and bowleds. (Having the new ball) Our team's main motto is adaptibility. Whether I open or bowl first-change, I'm happy representing my country. (10 overs in first 25 overs) It was quite hot as well. I was playing a 50-over game after a year. But it all paid off, and after my five-for, I feel very fresh. (Shows the ball to the camera) We thought surface would be abrasive too but there was a bit of moisture on the surface."
JUST IN from the BCCI: Mr Ishan Kishan has requested the BCCI to be released from the upcoming Test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. The wicket-keeper has subsequently been withdrawn from the Test squad.
BeardGuy: "The arrival of Marco Jansen made everyone forget how good an all-rounder Andile Pehlukwayo really is. He plays an unsexy utility role that never gets noticed. He bowls cutters in the middle overs, he can handle an additional over or two in the death because the captain already spent the strike bowler's quota at the start of the innings, and with the bat in ODIs he's a budget Dhoni. It's a pity that his best format is also the one that's most at risk of dying."
South Africa have Phehlukwayo to thank for the score of 116. Without his 33, South Africa were going to be all out for a third-straight double-digit total against India in ODIs.
South Africa, after opting to bat, have been bundled out for 116. Arshdeep leads his team off the field as he raises the ball. India should have got a wicket off the very first ball but they didn't review an lbw call against Hendricks. That hardly had an effect as Arshdeep nipped out Hendricks and van der Dussen off back-to-back deliveries. Tony de Zorzi decided to play his shots and that eventually led to his downfall as well. Klaasen became Arshdeep's fourth victim and South Africa were reduced to 52/4 in 10 overs. Things went from bad to worse for the host with the introduction of Avesh Khan. There was some assistance for the seamers and the Indian bowlers kept their plans pretty simple. Few poor shots helped their cause as well. Phehlukwayo top-scored with 33 and Arshdeep removed him off his final over to pick up his maiden fifer. And, Kuldeep wrapped up the proceedings. Right then, India need 117 to win. They'll fancy themselves to chase it down comfortably. Can the South African pacers spring in a surprise? Join us in 30 minutes for the reply...
