Most of the things build by desi people and for the desi people and run by desi people....ka yahi haal hai....bana lenge ....thoda time achha chalta hai...and after that negligence....chahe...PVR ho, airport ho , sadak ho...ya Parliament ho....

I have never seen a movie in a PVR....but in Dallas we have a multiscreen....desi theater.....in the begining we used to go there a lot....but not anymore....like you said.....the seats are bad...its dirty and what not......we now go the American multiplexes.....We wanted to support our local desi community here.....but how long can people do it.....no maintenance whatsoever.smiley24

Not sure what PVR experience you guys are having ..

Mine have still been very positive in the past 4-5 years. Same with Cinepolis. Food standards have actually improved IMO. Or atleast the taste has. And atleast in Bangalore, I don't find the crowd to be too chattery that it gets distracting. People still respect the movie goers and the overall experience

And online booking has definitely simplified the process of watching the movies. I wouldn't have watched 50% of the movies I did in theaters, if I had to lineup to grab tickets

This may be the case with old cinema halls and run down buildings. But the PVRs near me and in the city in which I live are very well infrastructured and have all kinds of comforts to rip off the customers smiley36

Few years back around Diwali time at one PVR outlet they opened a section PVR LUXE as in luxury. We went there for movie, tickets were very expensive, don't remember movie name but still remember the theatre experience. As it was during Diwali time, all ushers or attendants: girls as well as boys were dressed in Maharashtrian traditional dress. Girls were in Navari saree and looking beautiful with nath and all. Theatre seats were also super comfy and the experience was super awesome. Yaad raha..

Even now that Luxe theatre is maintained. Of course tickets are expensive to super expensive but theatre experience is too good.

I have stop going to the cinemas as the interest is gone from films, not wasting my money on them even in OTT if a film comes i watch if not,not bothered at all. My preference are more on documentaries, cartoons ,animation films

I don't know why slowly all these interest on films ,actors, actress are all gone completely zero. Its like they do not exist already. The excitement, the interest all gone. Furthermore they are not making films but making thrash

Cinemas in UK seriously suck. Cineworld/ Odeon is so bakwaas..that I wont ever step foot into those again...Picture house/ Vue Cinemas are good depending on the location. I only go if there is recliner seat..otherwise I am not interested..I mean make it worth my money man..I am not paying for no AC and shitty seats, even if I am allowed to carry my food here..unlike India.

When in Mumbai - PVR Luxe, Inox Insignia..WOW! Like That is luxury lol. They got curated menus and everything is so plush and gorg <3

I absolutely agree about the cinema interiors they are great. But that’s a one time expense. But the screen quality is bad and i think that’s uniform. May be because when you watch movies in 4k at home and theatres still play it from a projector the difference in quality is evident. A 4k projector and a 4k screen are still 2 different things. So is the case with sound quality and air conditioning. I just feel these are also big reasons people don’t go to watch movies anymore. The tvs improved much faster than tech improved in cinemas. May be cinemas are in losses so that’s what they have to offer.

Genuinely curious which city you go to watch movie? I cannot relate to what you mentioning.

Everything is good where I go to watch even single screens as well as pvr, etc. AC is working, Sound quality is good. 3D movies are fantastic. Seats are comfortable.
