personally I don’t eat sweets but I like Gajak, and besen ladoo!! In meals we usually have paneer, Punjabi kadai(curry) or saag, Bharta/eggplant and paneer, moong daal(yellow/orange) with methi roti is Common, There many sweets similar to others that we have like barfi, gulab Jaman etc!! I do like Mysore pak it’s not Punjabi desert but on lohri in our home we have it as I like it and coconut laddos!! And you ?Originally posted by: Nishita123

We will usually have sesame seed/ peanuts ladoo/ ( square pieces are called chikki ) from what I know. That’s the Sankranti special.
Regular meal is normal - mix vegetables, puris/chapati, daal/rice and in sweet either jalebis/sweet yogurt/kheer etc. nothing too specific.

It’s 3 days in Andhra , Telangana
1st day - Bhogi . bonfire n kids celebrations etc…eats sweet Pongal
2nd day - Makara Sankranthi - Pooja n Panchagam . Eats sweet arisalu n hot pulihora(lemon rice )
Some will do kites .
3rd day - kanuma . Eats hot dish garalu .Pooja for cattle n cattle races n big tournaments of chicken , ox etc..fights
