Sure, she might be playing up that part of her now, but it is similar to how lot of others do - like Parineeti's earthiness, Alia's childish vibe and Ranveer's eccentricities. They are slight exaggerations but not completely untrue.
Don't know why but I somehow don't find any pretence in the way she is like people here in the forum claim. Firstly because that leads to a boring personality and people these days want only bubbliness and liveliness in offscreen interviews so no one is going to purposely put on a boring personality and cut off all sorts of connections with the audience. Look how much people are loving Sara now. She has that liveliness in her which is attracting people to the extent that now Janhvi is a 'bimbo' when I've never heard a single dumb thing said by her in any interview. 😆 I think both of them are really mature in their interviews but have completely different personalities.
I feel Janhvi is genuinely sheltered and very quiet like her mom. Like even in the BTS vids Rhea shares of family events, it is always Khushi who is always excited for the camera while Janhvi is somewhere in the background talking to someone. I remember during Dhadak promotions or KWK, that slight irritation would show on her face when Ishaan or Arjun would get really excited while answering something.😆
But yeah, somehow like I mentioned, it looks like she lacks the energy or the motivation and it looks like she is perpetually sad offscreen. I am interested to see how she becomes as time passes and she does a few films. I'll still give her the benefit of what she has gone through this year because I think it will take time to heal. I mean people who are like 60 have tough time getting over the loss of a parent and she is toh just 21. And that too,she lost her closest family member because as far as I remember, I've only heard Sridevi talk about Janhvi in most of her interviews since a long time and how close they are and how she is not worried about Khush i because she can manage on her own but Janhvi needs her and is just a carbon copy of how she was as a kid. So I think it's okay if she is a little off and looks sad or lost offscreen and in interviews because we really don't know how she is coping up with her loss personally or what is going on in her mind.
The only time she will not get this benefit is if she underperforms onscreen despite getting these oppurtunities. So I'd rather see her having a boring persona offscreen but do really good work onscreen like her mom than the opposite.
