Karan Johar's is sure to up the cine game
with his multi-starrer venture, Takht. The
historical drama, which he said was like a
Mughal version of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie
Gham will feature Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt,
Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi
Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar
among others. KJo had announced the
project a month ago, but, the pairings till
then were not finalised. But now, the
pairings of Karan's full-length feature is out
and it's quite interesting.
As per an Entertainment Portal, Ranveer
Singh will essay the role of Dara Shukoh and
Vicky Kaushal will play the self-obsessed,
tyrannical Aurangzeb in the film which
traces the relationship between Mughal
Emperor brothers. A source has also
revealed them that Alia Bhatt will be paired
with Vicky Kaushal in Takht and Ranveer
Singh will be romancing Janhvi Kapoor.
Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal have shared
screen space before this film in Raazi which
was a massive success. This will be Janhvi's
second film post her Bollywood debut with
Dhadak, which was also under Dhadak
productions.
The buzz is Janhvi will be seen portraying
the role of Nadira Banu Begum, a Mughal
princess and Alia may essay Dilras Banu
Begum popularly known as Rabia - ud-
Daurani. Dilras is said to be Aurangzeb's
favourite queen and bore him five children.
The screenplay of Takht which is scheduled
for a 2020 release is by Sumit Roy and the
dialogues are by Hussain Haidry. Apart from
Takht, the filmmaker has Student Of The
Year 2, Simmba, Kesari, Kalank, Brahmastra
and Ranbhoomi in the pipeline.
