Varun's Southern Taste
With Bollywood and the southern industry blending so much these days, we have quite a few filmmakers from there who are stepping into the world of Hindi cinema. The next one who might join this list is well-known Telugu director Sukumar. We hear that the filmmaker was recently in Mumbai and had a hush-hush meeting with our very own Varun Dhawan.
If all goes well, there is talk of Sukumar directing Dhawan for a Bollywood film, which will be produced by Zee Studios. Currently, the filmmaker is finishing a project with Mahesh Babu, while Varun Dhawan is working on his commitments here. But there might be an interesting project in the making with this talented combo. Watch this space for more updates!

There has been a lot of speculation around Salman Khan being signed for Yash Raj Films' much anticipated film Dhoom 4. It was said that keeping in tune with the previous films in the Dhoom series, Khan will play the lead antagonist in this fourth instalment. But our sources in the production house say that there is no truth to this rumour. While Khan will not be doing the fourth film in the Dhoom franchise, he will definitely be a part of a YRF venture after he finishes Bharat and Dabangg 3.
And buzz is that this YRF project will be a sequel to the actor and production house's last hit collaboration, Tiger Zinda Hai. After Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, this third film will have Khan starring in and as Tiger'. Even though the film is in the nascent stage, it can be easily said that it will also be a blockbuster success like the previous instalments.
After making larger-than-life movies like Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, it seems director Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to try a different genre. The filmmaker has acquired the rights to the Malayalam film Pulimurugan, which starred Mohanlal. The 2016 hit film was an action adventure film. SLB seems to have started working on this project as we hear that he had approached his Guzaarish actor, Hrithik Roshan, to play the lead role.
And while it would be great to see this actor-director jodi back on the big screen, Roshan Jr fans will be disappointed because the actor has rejected this offer. Wonder what made Hrithik Roshan say no to a Sanjay Leela Bhansali project.
A lot of buzz has been created around Shraddha Kapoor playing the lead role in badminton champ Saina Nehwal's biopic. Stories of the film, tentatively titled Saina, being put on hold or even shelved have been doing the rounds. But rumour also has it that the film is to go on floors very soon. Kapoor, who has choc-a-block dates, is shooting for her film Batti Gul Meter Chalu at the moment.
After that film, the actress's dates are committed to the Prabhas-starrer Saaho, for which she will fly to Hyderabad. Word is that in between these overlapping dates, Miss Kapoor will start her prep for Saina and will take time out in Hyderabad to prepare for her next role. We hear that she will need to practice rigorously for 2-3 months before the film goes on the floors in September or October. Let's see how our busy bee Shraddha Kapoor will keep all these balls in the air for the next few months.
