There was a studio called Shri Ashtavinayak who wanted to sign me. I told them that let's sign Imtiaz. He has a script ready. And let's talk to Kareena Kapoor (Bobby had worked with Bebo in Ajnabee). The producers were like, oh no, that guy will make an expensive film. Kareena, on the other hand, didn't even want to meet Imtiaz...

Days passed. And suddenly I read that Ashtavinayak has signed Imtiaz for Jab We Met and Kareena is doing the film! And she had gotten her then boyfriend, Shahid Kapoor to act opposite her. I was like, wow. Quite an industry.

Kareena probably didn't want to meet Imtiaz because his previous films were a flop. Makes you wonder where she would be today without Jab We Met 😆

I really appreciate his honesty as ppl in general specially Bollywood actors don't accept their mistakes.
Though Abhay is my fav amongst Deols, Bobby was also good. I liked some of his films n chemistry with PC 😛

Bobby Deol was the best looking actor in Bollywood IMO.

Love him! 😳 Lots of childhood nostalgia associated with him. 😆

very honest interview..he deserve a comeback ..whenever we friends discuss movies we say this, bobby is a good actor and charsimatic...wish bobby and abhishek get quality works.

I was thinking about the DJ incident all along and thought , ah, the rich brat is just talking for effect but then the issue was addressed so I feel like giving him the benefit of doubt.


The truth is just that,the entitled son was set in the comfortable ways of how the industry used to be. It's nice to read though that he is willing to change.

I wish him good luck. I LOVED him in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.It was a character role that he quite aced.He isn't a spectacular actor however he does have immense screen presence.You just can't ignore him in a scene.

Neelam in a interview said she didn't want to marry a STAR hero hence decided to split with Bobby.Only if she knew ;)

I loved him in Humraaz as well 😛 He refused movies like Yuva (was approached for Ajay's role), I guess such incidents led to the perception that he wasnt willing to do supporting roles.

Surprised to see him replying every question so honestly . That phase when u really don't have work & nothing materialises despite your effort s does give rise to lots of negativity in mind & low self esteem . I truly agree with him there . I wish him all the best . May he is able to do well for himself

I wonder too about how did Bobby Deol slipped out of industry so fast .. star kids don't fade so quickly even if they don't give hits. Bobby has at least given a few hits and he was good. Even Akshay had flops but he had no ego, he continued working on A-B-C grade films .. so many of them every year. Bobby should have done that too. At least a few of them would have been hits.
