OM PURI'S GANDHIGIRI COMES WITH AN ILL-TIMED SCUFFLE
By Natasha Coutinho, Mumbai Mirror | Sep 27, 2016, 12.00 AM IST
For Om Puri, things took an ironically violent turn on Monday morning when he landed in Lucknow to promote his new film, Gandhigiri.
The veteran actor was looking forward to fielding questions from the media when one of the scribes posed a question pertaining to his real life relationships. It clearly didn't go down well with Puri. He was so ticked off by this intrusively personal query that he got up and roughly pushed the journalist in question before his publicists could intervene and break up the scuffle.
"The film has Om playing an NRI called Rai Sahab who strongly believes in Gandhian principles as his father was a part of the freedom struggle. He was very excited to share his own stance on the ideology when he left for Lucknow," a source present at the event informed Mirror.
We contacted Om Puri but he remained unavailable for comment.
In the film, Puri's Rai Sahab will be seen reforming four men with his Gandhigiri.
