But what she mentioned also holds importance. I remember once fans jumping at Nazriya for she called Vijay as Vijay..not Vijay "Sir". Actress can't have their views.

Well, they always tweet. That means something terrible happens if they don't.. like getting boycotted from every big BW party. Or may be something good happens if they do... like getting invitations from every happening party. π I guess, that's how Sophie Chaudry gets her invitations.

There's more ugliness. I was once shocked to know that people over there select their favorite stars/politicians not by their action/merit but through their caste.

But they would do that to young male actors too. And it is expected of female seniors too, if some young actor called a senior actress by her first name, it would be considered disrespectful as well. Now, the fact that I guess all these male actors achieve greater seniority and stardom, while the female actresses have a shelf life makes the situation chauvinist, I would agree. Also that the male actors would have the big fan clubs and fans who in number would make noise and make a big issue while that doesn't exist for female actresses--that also makes the whole situation itself a male chauvinist situation. But the act of expecting a suffix is not by itself indicative of sexism and male chauvinism. It's the surrounding factors and situation as a whole. If you say, that colleagues of similar age and length in industry, where let's say Mahesh Babu, Arya, Prabhas can call Trisha, Samantha, Anushka, ileana etc by their names but they have to address the males as sir, I would say yes, that is indicative of male chauvinism. (Which by the way, I don't know. Is it the case? I have been away from S.I industries and even Bollywood for quite some time.)

this one I agree!!fans are divided according to the caste of stars which I find worst than any other industry...OT:but I don't agree on male chauvinism...I mean where isn't ?? we see that all over the world ..not only limited to some industries..
