For obvious reasons, Reema Kagti's next has already taken up reams of paper. After all, Aamir Khan getting under the skin of a tough cop can't go unnoticed . And if the film stars tinseltown beauties Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, then more so. Barring the news that the film is a thriller and portions of it will be shot in a red-light area, which Aamir is all set to penetrate while probing on a case, nothing more is known. But even as the unit is tightlipped about the film, here's a delightful piece of news: Bengali actor Subrat Dutta has bagged a meaty role in the film.
Subrat, who was offered a Bengali film during this time, turned down the same citing date problems. The actor's dates, it's heard, have been blocked for the whole of March, April and June, when Reema's film will be extensively shot in Mumbai. One murder sequence, however, has already been shot. When TOI got in touch with Subrat, he refused to comment on the film. "Since the film is a thriller, the cast is keen on guarding the plot close to their hearts. Giving out any information on the film will automatically diffuse the importance of the storyline. But Subrat is happy with his part," said a source close to the unit.
Incidentally, this is Subrat's second with Aamir Khan. The actor was a part of "Mangal Pandey: The Rising". In fact, while working on the earlier film, Subrat couldn't stop waxing eloquent about the perfectionist called Aamir Khan. "The actor is friendly even with the co-star who has just a line to deliver. He is extremely caring and has a strong presence on the sets. His dedication is what sets him apart," Subrat had once said.
Khan't say if it was Aamir who inspired Subrat to come on board!
