My Valentine!

Taani was super excited for the upcoming valentine’s day. After a tiring day at work, she had hit the mall to shop for valentine's day. She was in the cab, talking with her friend, Sharon.

“Yeah Shar! I am finally done with my shopping.” Taani exclaimed happily.

“So finally huh? But what about the reservations?” 

“You won’t believe but I have done those as well. You know, I want this valentine’s to be perfect.”

“Yeah. Even I am done with the preparations. Swayam is not much happy about it though.”

“Yaar! Why is Swayam so disinterested about the date?” Taani was confused.

“He isn’t disinterested in the date per se, but you know him. He is in a bit of a sulking mode. But chuck it. I am not going to hinder my excitement because of his PMS.” Sharon said irritated. Taani burst out laughing when she heard Swayam from the background, 

“Maine suna tumne kya bola.” 

“Good for you!” Sharon replied, flipping her hair.

“Calm down, tiger.” Taani chuckled.

“Waise Rey ko bataya tune?” Sharon enquired.

“No. I want it to be a surprise.” Taani replied cheekily.

“More of a shock. Dekh le kahi behosh na ho jaaye.” Swayam replied, popping into the call.

Taani and Sharon laughed. 

“Anyways Taani, I gotta go. Will talk to you later.”

“Bye. Cya.” Taani disconnected the call.

...

Taani was watching some series when her phone rang again. She answered the call.

“Hey sweetheart! Wassup!”

“Hi Rey. Watching the series. What about you?” Taani replied, curtly.

“Taani, please gussa chod do na. I am sorry. You know I was planning to fly down to Mumbai but yaar ek to Monday hai and upar se meeting bhi aa gayi. Ab usmein meri kya galti?” Rey tried coaxing her.

“But I wanted to spend this day with you. How is this fair? We were supposed to celebrate Valentine’s day together na? Moreover, we haven’t met in 6 months now. I miss you Rey.” Taani mumbled the last part.

“I miss you too, Meri jaan. Par kaam bhi to jaroori hai na. I’ll fly down as soon as possible. Par please ab to smile kar de.” Rey pouted. Taani smiled looking at him.

“I wish I was there to kiss your pout.” Taani said cheekily. Rey’s eyes widened.

“Babe, this used to be my line.”

“I guess you rubbed off on me!” Taani bit her lip.

“Taani!” Rey groaned. Taani burst out laughing.

“Mood Killer.” Rey grumbled.

“That’s your punishment mister.” Taani teased him.

“Not cool. Not cool at all.” Rey replied.

“I’ll make it up to you.” Taani promised but with an underlying teasing tone.

“Taani, you are not helping me sweetheart.” Rey was flustered.

“Okay okay. I’ll stop.” Taani chuckled.

“Tu Rey ko kyun nahi bata rahi?” Sharon asked Taani over the call.

“Yaar, kuch to surprise rehne de.”

“Tere surprise ke chakkar mein uss bechare ko attack aa jayega.”

“He should have thought about it beforehand. Now he should be ready to face the consequences. Waise, why are you siding with him? Best friend ke liye pyaar umad umad ke bahar aa raha hai kya?”

“Chup. Kuch bhi. Par daya aa rahi hai bechare par.” Taani rolled her eyes at Sharon’s theatrics.

...

Taani was in the room getting ready when her phone rang. 

“Her Shar!”

“Hey babe! Tu ready ho gayi?”

“Would get ready in half an hour. All set for the date?” Taani asked.

“Yeah. Except for Swayam’s sulking, everything's set. Aur tu jo subah se stories daal rahi hai apne Insta pe, uss bechare ki kya haalat hai?”

“He is irritated but he’ll live with it. I have anyways planned a surprise for him. I just hope he likes it.” Taani sighed.

“He will. Don’t worry.” Sharon pacified her.

…

Rey is pissed looking at Taani’s latest Instagram post. 

“Ye date pe jaa rahi hai? Par kiske saath? Main to yaha Delhi mein hoon aur vo Mumbai mein. It seems even Sharon and Swayam know about it.” While thinking with whom Taani could possibly go on a date, Rey remembered the conversation he had with Taani a few days ago.

“The f*ck! Doesn’t he know that you are in a relationship?” Rey fumed over the phone. 

Taani had just informed him about her colleague, Jeh, who had asked her out for a date. Taani had gone ahead of herself and informed Rey about how her colleague had asked her out and she had flirted back. 

“Are you even listening, Taani?” Rey was thoroughly irritated.

“Haan!”

“I can’t believe you flirted back. Never expected it from you.” Rey huffed. 

Taani sighed. She knew she crossed the line. This long-distance was taking a toll on both of them.

“Accha, accha. I am sorry Rey. Main to bas mazzak kar rahi thi na.” Taani pouted. Rey smiled.

“I wish I was there to kiss your pout.” Rey winked.

“Kahi sachmein to uss Jeh ke saath to nahi chali gayi date pe?” Rey frowned.

Rey came out of his thoughts when the doorbell rang. As soon as he opened the door his frown turned into a smile. 

“Surprise!” Rey chuckled.

“Taani, are you serious?”

“Yeah!” Taani was pulled into a tight hug. Taani smiled into the hug.

“I miss you, Rey. More than I can express, more than I can convey. Words fail me when I wish to confess what I feel about you. But I know these words would be more than enough to let you know what I feel when I miss you, when I think about you. I love you, Rey.” Taani confessed with a bright smile.

“I love you too, Meri jaan.” Rey replied, looking at the screen and started devouring the cheesecake Taani had sent along with the video message.

“Tujhe kya laga main Rey ko sach mein kuch surprise nahi dungi?” Taani asked Sharon, breaking their hug.

“Haan.” Sharon pouted.

“Paagal.” Taani chuckled. 

Sharon looked at Taani, who was already looking at her with a smile and pulled her into a hug again.

“Happy Galentine’s babe!” Sharon wished Taani.

“Happy Galentine’s love!” Taani wished back.

It's been long since I have updated Saat Phere but here I am with an OS.

Good news is I have started working on the next update of Saat Phere. But I have no idea when I'll be updating next. Please cooperate with my bizzare update schedules.
