Chapter 6
Indigo
She sat in the dark cell, her eyes hurting. She had been drifting in and out of consciousness.
They had brought her here, and he had just thrashed her on the floor, leaving her there in the darkness to die.
She didn't want to die. She just wanted to go home.
He had killed her husband, shot him in cold blood and afterwards she had screamed her lungs out trying to bring his lifeless body back from the netherworld.
But he was dead.
And she was here. Trapped. Rotting. Waiting for death, it seemed.
She wanted to go back to Mami-Sa. She wanted to go home, away from these stone-hearted bas***ds.
Home. Home?
She felt terrified all of a sudden. What would they do to her now?
She wasn't a suhaagan anymore.
For a fleeting moment, the indigo flashed in front of her eyes, and she froze.
No. No. They wouldn't.
Fresh tears spilled out of her eyes, as she saw in front of her, the women of her own village, gathering around her, taking her earrings off one by one. She saw them weeping, and saw how they took off her necklace next. She saw herself screaming, begging them to stop, but it seemed no voice fell on their deaf ears. She saw them moving her hands to break the red glass bangles. She saw them making her dress in the indigo, that was now going to be a permanent part of her life.
A widow's life.
[A/N: I should have clarified this before. Sorry. The color for Rajasthani rajput widows is Indigo/Dark Blue. The video will help, I guess.]

Thank you Thank you Joe! Also, why is Yellow at the bottom? Okay, I know I am being stupid with that question... But I just wanted to know! Wouldn't that be lovely.. That the Rangrasiya himself gets to know colors only through Paro!

Ankita-Baisa!!! Sorry I missed the updates!! Work will be the death of me. 😭I'm here now, so let me RAVE about all the fabulous updates I haven't raved about yet. 😆 @YELLOWSo what if the heat was unbearable a few times? Some fires were worth burning in. The above mentioned lines from yellow... Stole my breath away. Some fires are indeed worth burning in. That's what Love does to you. Once you have had a taste of it, the mark burned in your heart forever, there is nothing quite like it to match. Amazing amazing job done on conveying a docile Paro's Intense love for her Rudra. @GREYWell, I'm glad you wrote this one! :* 👏Hugs and Kisses for a Rudra Chapter Very Very nicely written. Rudra's feelings are so accurately penned here! Him wondering if he's tied to a child-bride, the honest amazement & wonderment at Paro , his very own kaleidoscope! She really does leave her color everywhere, beautifying everything.I loved this one. I really really did. @INDIGO:A glimpse at Paro's dark days. Funnily enough, I haven't ever mulled over what her thoughts could have been about her short-lived marriage or the impending doom of widowhood. I hadn't given it that much thought. You however, did magic. Truly thought provoking. Once again Ankita-Baisa, you have done a brilliant job with all these colors! J Virtual flowers and Chocolates for Grey', cause I adore it. P.S: I CAN'T WAIT FOR RED. :D End the wait soon Baisa!! 😆Love,Sonata24 Sonata242014-05-14 09:52:56
