Are we meant to be ?

Lisa was five years old when she first saw him. She might have never noticed him except the ball she threw hit him in the head and he was hurt. 

Her parents rushed to his side to check on him. And later introduced him to her after making sure he was okay. Timothy didn't seem angry with her because he was smiling, and it was enough to make her stop crying. 

Lisa was twelve, when she last saw Timothy before he moved to a different town. For a girl entering her teenage years, the loss of her friend was so terrible. She spent the next one month crying over how much she missed him. 

Lisa was twenty, when she met Tim again, who no longer liked to be called Timothy. She was new to the city and yet she was excited to meet her good old friend. Except he wasn't the adorable boy, she used to adore. 

Lisa was twenty two, when she met John, who adored her. They worked together and spent lot of time working closely that falling in love felt safe. 

Lisa was twenty five,  when she attended Tim's wedding. She was surprised that she got invited. But when it was her turn to get married, he didn't attend her wedding. 

Lisa was thirty two, when John left her to be with his new girlfriend. While part of her grieved over the loss of her marriage, part of her knew their love didn't stand the test of time. 

Timothy was five when he first saw her, it was her tears that he was hurt that made him smile back at her, because it had been so long since anyone cared about his pain. 

Timothy was twelve when his parents got separated and he was sent to live with his paternal grandparents leaving her behind. 

Tim was twenty when he met her again. She was still the same girl he used to adore but she couldn't accept him for who he was now. A man changed with time. 

Tim was twenty five when he got married. After his grandparents death, Tim was all alone and meeting Jane felt like fate. He invited Lisa to the wedding because she was all he got left as family or close to the feeling of having one. 

Lisa was thirty five when she met Tim again, this time he didn't invite her but she had to go. 

Tim was thirty five when he met Lisa again. He was glad that Jane was no longer in pain but he felt cheated by fate to only have ten years with his wife. 

When he felt all alone again, there she was standing quietly in the back of the cemetery looking at him. And even from far off he knew she was crying for him even now. Because he was hurt. 

Lisa was thirty six when she realised the parts she adored in Timothy was still very much a part of Tim, it just took him bit longer to let his guard down, so she can  see them . 

Lisa was thirty eight when she said yes to go on a date with Tim. 

Tim was forty two when he got married again. And when he looked up to see his wife's face, she was crying again. This time because she was happy. 

Lisa and Tim are celebrating their 50th Birthday this year. They might argue about lot of things in their life together as any married couple but one thing they both agree is that they are meant to be together. Even if it taken them bit longer to get to that point of life.
